Stuck in "Saiga-No-Cycle City"...need to catch first train out

Recommended Posts

There is no reason to drill the ports first. There are tons of things you can do to it, I recommend cleaning it well, lubing it up, and shoot the hell out of it.

+1

The Break in period and patience first then if needed altering your Saiga 12. cguiro, AA, and most others are correct here.

The stories you don't hear are the ones where a guy/gal messed up big time cutting, drilling, modifying, etc. and turned a great firearm into a piece of junk. Start slow and get professional help if you don't know how to do something important.

Good luck.

Clean, lube, and spend a ton on high brass ammo. Then find out it still doesn't run low brass worth a shit. Then come back read the stickies, learn to drill the ports, how to reprofile and polish the bolt and carrier.

Another great lesson in life is learning to listen to the wisdom of those who've done it already.

(How much time "breaking in" do you think pro builders spend on each gun) I'll give you a hint it ryhmes with nero.

I am shouldering it to fire it. It worked great last weekend with the magnum loads. I have just installed the new CSS puck and plug and front spring and cleaned it up. I only put grease on the bolt rails. Looking forward to shooting it with my 20 rd drum with the new gas accessories.
