S12KS-K 40
I see centerfire has mags in stock for the VEPR. Will VEPR mags fit the 030? Will everything function correctly? Why exactly are they labeled different?
S12KS-K 40
Can anyone answer this q? I can't find 030 mags ANYWHERE but tons of VEPR mags..
DresNightfire 39
Correct. VEPR 12 Mags and Saiga 12 030 Mags are compatible.
SGM 217
are you talking about the factory mags or our 10&12 round mags? the factories i would think so, our mags i believe they will insert and function but they have alot of side to side play/slop and i don't think the last round bolt hold open works. we haven't tested them in the 030 models. I do know the 030 models have a longer bho lever and our mags sit at a different angle in the gun beyond that I don't know.
HighPlainsDrifter 466
There's a recent thread about this issue. Members have reported both SGM magazines to be cross compatible with both platforms. Here's a good thread to read. Here's another... DresNightfire 39
What are the proper steps for the SGM VEPR 12 Magazine break-in process? I've sanded/filed down the lips already, but had an embarrassing experience in front of a lot of shooters today with the mag jumping out when shooting clay (the LRBHO has not been working for me as well, but it does work when inserting an empty magazine). menace667 194
Personal experience with five new 10 rounders- insert hels till you feel it get really stiff. This seems to be a point inside that has a ton of friction. I then took my finger (thumb) and placed it against the top round and forced it down and released it about ten times, until the friction feeling smoothed out. Before doing this I could not fully load the magazine at all, but afterward they ran 100% through 300 rounds (60 each mag) of all types of light loads. All five of my magazines had this same stiff spot in different places. a couple were really shallow, around the 2nd or 3rd round and the rest were around the middle in the 5-6 round area. Hope this helps.
S12KS-K 40
Ok, got my VEPR 12 mag today.. gave it a good whack and it locked right in. LRBHO works! In my SAIGA KS-K 030. SGM should start labeling these as VEPR-12 / SAIGA 030 because obviously it works perfect in both weapons!
