It really doesnt matter what your putting on it, you still have to follow the 922. The tapco stock with pistol grip should count for two parts. If your modernizing it and using a G2 trigger, well thats another us made 922 part which would be in your favor.

For one thing if you do some research most people consider the Tapco collapsible stock to be a POS! They are weak and flimsy and many have reported that they fit so loose in the receiver that the srews vibrate loose after firing! Honestly I would just save your money for a good stock, pistol grip and an FCG (fire control group) and you will be 922R compliant no worries. By the way most people do use modified Tapco G2 FCGs, take some time to look through the Picture threads and read threads in the conversion section and keep asking questions.

Thanks for the replies fellas.

This question was asked by a friend of mine who thought you didn't have to follow 922r if you only replaced the original stock with the tapco thing with the built in pistol grip. He thought that by not moving the trigger group and sticking to stock mags that 922r did not apply. I disagreed with him.

I recently did my own conversion and used American made wooden furniture, trigger group, gas piston, and muzzle device.
