Mil-spec stock?

Recommended Posts

My saiga 12 was imported in that AK platform so I don't have to worry about the conversion.

Come again? You have a 12-C that you want to start swaping out parts on?

Joe, what rock have you been hiding undernaaaa.gif

FIME group has been importing Saiga 12s in the proper configuration with a fixed stock, pistol grip, riveted trigger guard, no extra holes, etc... for months now.

Can be found at KVAR as the SGL12-07 and 09 series.

i like the simplicity of this one but will it still look good? and the tang does not need to be removed correct?

i do like the one picture that was posted, very clean. i just dont want it to look bad.

That is the exact one that I have and the Enidine will work with it. It will look great and the tang does not need removed. Trust me, you would be extremely happy with it.

Hello guys....

I was thinking of this setup....

1. RIFLE DYNAMICS - AK47/AK74 M4 Stock Adapter

@http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/stock-forend-parts/rifle-stocks/ak-m4-stock-adapter-sku100011376-55411-113111.aspx

2. DPMS - Butt Stock Extension Tube

@http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/stock-forend-parts/stock-hardware/tubes/butt-stock-extension-tube-sku231000048-17502-41387.aspx

3. MAGPUL - AR-15/M16/AR-10 MOE RIFLE STOCK

@http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/stock-forend-parts/rifle-stocks/moe-rifle-stock-black-sku100009585-45515-103195.aspx

4. and I think I need a screw(Butt Stock Screw, Upper, A2)

Am I missing anything?.......

One Thing that concerns me is the RF adapter looks to be a little "high" but in line with the barrel. And there is a lil "void" that is there(right behind where the cover snaps in) that looks a little funny.

here is a link to the website RF @ http://www.rifledynamics.com/shop/

Sorry if I kind of highjacked a little, but I am learning as well. Thanks for all the input. I do not like the idea of cutting the tang.......but it seems to be the norm. Do you think I should just save up and shoot for the Bonesteel folder?

Any input is greatly appreciated.

That setup would work and yes you would need the buttstock screw. I personally would just go for the bonesteel if you're interested in a folding stock at all but don't think that you could go wrong either way.

Is there any way you'd be willing to post a picture so I can see what it looks like installed with the stock? If possible with the stock out and the stock folded

I personally just decided to go with a Kicklite stock for now. They are in stock in the Saiga-12.com Estore as of today. I debated many other options but this was the simplest solution. I have heard that the stock can be replaced with another commercial tube sized AR stock and keep the recoil reducing tube, but I cannot verify this. I do not know if there exist any dimensional differences anywhere that might prevent this. This stock will probably work well enough for me anyways since I have been satisfied using M4 stocks in the past. A milspec tube sized AR stock was not a requirement for me, I just wanted a decent adjustable stock with recoil reduction. Could be another option for you.

I'll take some today or tomorrow and post them up.

Sorry it took me so long. Here are some pics. The neoprene sleeve that goes on the stock is missing. I misplaced it so it's not on there until I find it but you guys will get the idea.post-46622-0-32441400-1363230085_thumb.jpg

I'll try and get a better pic later too.

I've decided that I don't really want a folding one, Could you guys suggest any other ones that have a low profile and I can screw in an AR tube on it? I'd like to keep the tang on there as well.

I'm putting the shot shock on there so it must be able to screw in all the way.

I would just go with the AR bones folder...if you want to keep the tang and use the shot shock. Just don"t fold it.

To keep the tang and use an AR tube, look at the Rifle Dynamics adapter.

He wants to use the Shot Shock.....which is not hollowed out(from my understanding). The Rifle Dynamics is great but needs a hollowed tube for the tang to extend into.

I really like my RD adapter....the cheek weld is a lil high for stock S12 sights but no deal breaker...got the HK weld on's in shipping status.

+1 to the Bonesteel folding AR stock adapter. I have that very one (left folding), and it is ROCK SOLID. The Interfacing parts of the folding adapter are angled so that they continue to tighten if they wear. They wedge tightly against one another no matter how often the thing is folded, so the hinge never wobbles. The shot stock can be installed with this adapter. Just remember to buy a $5 castle nut somewhere. Once installed don't fold it if you don't want to, bit you will not wear it out even with thousands of folds. Oh, and it sounds like you get a better (lower) cheek weld with this than the Rifle Dynamic. I can use my factory fixed sights with a Magpul CTR stock installed.
