Shot the new 54R. I'm in love.

Shot my new heatbreaker a couple of days ago. I can't keep my mind off of it. I can't wait for it to be finished.

They are really great platforms. Since the storm and with the cheap, availability of the round mine has become my favorite plinker. Kind of a high horsepower plinker. smile.png

Thanks gents.

I forgot to mention it has the best AK trigger I have ever used bar none.

Red Star Arms set to a very crisp 3# by Marc Krebs.

I havnt weighed it yet, but my guess is 12# or so.

Praetorian - beautiful Vepr!!

It's still not available, but should be soon.

The first two batches are being kept in-house for the KV-13's, but after that they should be out.

Yes - added material back for straight back.

It should look better after it is finished in cerakote

I am still 50/50 on it. I like some aspects, love others, am ho-hum about others.

Time will tell if I keep it.

But I love that when folded up it is way up top and out of the way.

I also like how wide and stable the legs are when deployed.

A couple more pics:

Surefire was very helpful when setting the rifle up to run with a can. We went with the SOCOM 7.62RC because the 54R out of the 18.5" barrel would be excessive for the 7.62 Mini.

Magpul helped us get the PRS Stock so that the shooter could properly and repeatedly get aligned with the rifle. This is a notorious family issue with the Kalashnikov.

Had to return the NF NXS Compact after the media event, so now the rifle wears a Vortex Viper PST.

Currently the rifle has Warne rings, but I am looking for a better alternative. Anyone have suggestions?

I'm gonna trek back a bit in the comments on this one....

...a folder on a x54R gives me emotions that I'm not comfortable talking about in public...

...wow, that would be all sorts of badass!!!

Still an awesome looking VEPR and I am still quite jealous...

(c'mon market.. drop those prices to "reasonable")

Regrettably I don't even have the rifle yet. I got to shoot it at the Big 3 East Media event where Marc was showing off the DMR concept (his is in .308) and his new KV-13.

Short answer: don't know yet.

Long answer: We'll see.
