finslayer83 1
I was working on removing my handguard screw at the base of the receiever and it now just spins and won't back out any further. Anyone deal with this? Suggestions?
cguiro 29
Sounds like its stripped...romove bcg and see if u can see the screw under your barrel. Put pressure on it from the inside of your reciever and try to unscrew it from the outside. If not... how good are you with a dremel?

Where would I be looking under the barrel? It seems like the screw would be directly under the trunion.
cguiro 29
Yes it would be. Never looked at a 5.45 not sure if u could get to ut or not. U can also try pulling on the handguard while unscrewing. Trying to findy old handgaurd to see if the handguard.is threaded or the reciever.
BigChongus 765
The handguard has threaded insert in it. If the screw is loose enough, try to get a small prying object (like a small regular screwdriver) under the head of the screw while backing it out. Barring that, you may just end up having to drill the head off.
finslayer83 1
thanks for all the help. I'll probably just cut the head off and then install a MI extended rail.
