Slugs vs 6x6 treated lumber...

Recommended Posts

Sorry I didn't get out a studio and just snapped these quick. but ya

The slug was a Rem slugger 1600fps 1 oz 2 3/4"

On the entry split the wood through to center

on exit took that big chunk the hole self filled oddly enough with wood debris

the slug is some 20 + inches into dirt ran out of dowel to measure

Damn That thing is still living.

You should now be required to grant it pardon and find another target. If for no other reason, to see how it goes on despite it's troubled history.

EDIT: And water jet it a plaque.

I actually do a little yard work with the shotgunrolleyes.gif

We have tons of yuccas here, the roots go down 10 feet or more and they are so tough no mower or blade can touch them.

They can ball up a chainsaw in a nano second.

I was using the blade on the loader to cut them off, but they just come back.

I found shooting them at the base with birdshot cut them off perfectlaugh.png then a little weed be gone poured directly into the root...no more yuccabiggrin.png

The shotgun is such a useful tool around the house, it works on rattlesnakes, rats and any other type of vermin that may come into the yard uninvitedsmile.png

It works well to shoot bird bombs at stray cows that tear down our fences, dogs keep their distance.

And the Jehovah's Witnesses havent been back in years015.gif

Some people I know own a hunting farm, and have many firearms in safes. There was one day were the owner was cleaning a firearm and had a ring at the door. Assuming it was someone to hunt, the answered the door with gun in hand. The people at the door were Jehovah's Witnesses. Upon seeing the firearm, they quickly left.

What do you expect when you visit a hunting club?

I've used the black magic magnums 3 1 3/8ozhigh brass. They are by far the meanest slug I've ever used. They make one bigger, the magic crush 1 1/2oz slug

If you want to see a mean slug! Check out the Dixie IXL DGS 730" 870grs

Hard Cast slug!....Think about it!...A 2-ounce Hard Cast slug made to terminate

Anything that walks on God's green Earth!! Check out there website...

I believe all smooth bore 1919 barrels have an I.D. of.729 but I'm not completely positive...If So! you must make sure if you fire a Dixie slug in the

MKA that your Cylinder choke measure no tighter than .729 according to the Dixie Website .....My Akdal supplied cylinder choke measures .724 so it would not work with the Dixie Slug but my Tom Cole Saiga Choke thread adapter measures .730 so it would work...http://www.hallowellco.com/bore_size_chart.htm
