Interesting news on the Saigas...

Recommended Posts

Two thoughts--

1. With Chavez selling heating oil to poor Americans at discount prices, maybe we can get discount Saigas as "aid" for us poor American "militiamen"?

2. Maybe the arms deals the Russians are making was brokered by Condie. Hey both of us need to increase our GNP and the best way to jump start our own arms industry is to have the russians sell plenty of arms. That way their neighbors will buy plenty of OUR stuff.

Just got off the phone with Debbie, she says it is bullshit. Just because Robinson is out of guns and the Russians have not even confirmed his order, and has been telling everyone that they are not building guns for anyone but Hugo, does not make it so.

She said she had the shipping numbers and that they are on the way. And the second shipment is getting ready to leave port.

Time will tell, but I feel much better.

Then she mounted her magical lepizander unicorn and rode over the rainbow bridge back to valhallah where she said the spirit of the original Saiga that spawned the whole race resides.

:lolol:

Sorry, don't mean to be a smart alec, but my attitude is always that I'll believe it when I see it.

I'm sure that our secretary of state Condoleeza Rice has been briefed every day by our intelligence community on the foreign arms developments with Russia. You don't think that she is making daily recomendations to bush about trade restrictions and santions aganist Russia? of course she is, it's her job to. President Bush delagated that authority to her. We may have one to several shipments of Saigas sent to us before this whole thing blows up in the media and across America. Maybe we should start selling medium range missles to Chechnya! Putin would Invade! Or declare war on America. of course some of his troops would include some Russian special forces equiped with swat 12's!

Folks,

Ms. Rice is firmly pro-gun rights! She talks fondly of her father defending her family during the '50s & '60s.

She is likely to keep the politics away from firearm trades.

EDIT: *And* Ms. Rice is a Russian specialist who can carry on a conversation in Russian. She can probably understand our fascination with Russian hardware, if anyone in the administration can.

[George W. is too pro-American and blue-blooded to like Saigas with their evil-looking features.]

Tactical Response calm down the Russians could be our best friend if we would try to improve relations with them. Also they do what is in thier national intrests not what is in ours. As far as China is concerned well draw you own conclusions we gave them the plans for the W84 war head and helped with thier space technology programs will be transfered to ICBM's don't blame Russian when China takes over Tiawan and Japan. We sell weapons to countries that are unfriendly to Russia just the same as they sell weapons to countries unfriendly to us. The way around this Cold War stuff is to befriend Russia not try to boss them around. Maybe we should watch who we sell weapons to and then maybe the Russians would do the same thing. Who knows maybe we could come to an agreement?

What is this "sell" you are talking about? I can't get the idea of "sell" to connect with the mental imageany gun that I have. ESPECIALLY SAIGA'S!

"Aquire" is the mental image that I attach to guns!

This is the real deal, Im only waiting on some papers to come in at the moment, guns will be in my warehouse for shipping out in less than 6 weeks, but Im estimating 4 weeks. All I have at the moment is the 19" S12. Once I run out I will have more coming in mid-December. Now, this IS a live pre order, you will be charged when your guns ship out to your transfer dealer. If more orders come in than I have guns for, you will be notified and your order will be ready to ship out when my second shipment comes in. Here is the link to the order page: http://www.thegunsource.com/shopping_viewp...idproduct=55103

Happy Saiga-ing

Wanted to add: 8rd factory mags will NEVER be inported by RAA, but I have spoken in person with Z1500 about the 10rd mags, and a few other possibilities, and these will be very nicely priced, and *should* be available in time for everyones Saigas being shipped.

If Saigas are banned from import, I believe that it would be some time before Bush reacted to Russia's weapons sales. Have you ever noticed how long it takes Bush to react to something before he does anything about it? I think people that want Saigas will possibly have them until tell the end of 2006-2008 before Bush actually sanctions Russia. Maybe by then we will be building our own Saigas. As far as RAAC goes they fought a long and hard battle with someone in Texas to be the American importer of the Saiga line, and the loser is not a happy camper. I think that some of you may know who I'm talking about.:killer:

300Rum,

The boat took the scenic tour. Watch the first week of January 2006 ..............come and go.

To be fair it is not the fault of RAAC or the Distributors/Dealers. It all hinges on the Russians and Customs for both countries. As I see it, it is just business. The Russians are running their factories just like we do in the U.S. Run them lean. Run volume and profitable models to drive down cost and increase margins. Minimize variation, tooling, changeovers and smaller volumes. Seek customers that order in vast quantites, who pay on time and are likely to repeat orders or business. Run the "cats and dogs" to offset fixed costs when large volumes wane.

If there is an issue it is not being straight up about where the US Saiga order stands in the production pecking order. We can handle the truth but not alot of string along misleading bullshit. Give us a valid delivery date even if it is in 2007.

300Rum, did you say that you have 19" Saiga12s in stock?! If so how many do you have left and how much are you selling them for? I am assuming that you are within the continental US.

The link that you provided is bunk.

Piston,

That posting is dated (Oct. 13, 2005) and was brought up to make a point. I don't believe any dealer has a quantity of S-12's. This was based on anticipation and speculation of second shipment by "mid December".......as in 5 days from now. See the link for history of "they are due any day now".

Oh.....Damn! Well, I should have figured as much. I have a very beefy tax return comming to me this year. My wife has agreed to let me spend it on a shotgun. I've been looking around for new, used or even botched conversions. But Im not seeing much around, except the ones that must have a solid gold interior reflected in the asking price.

The wife and I will be small game hunting next year, and I would love to have a nice duel purpose shotty like the S12. I'm going to keep looking until it gets close to October. I cant hold out forever though, if i dont find an S12 at a realistic price for hunting, Im just gonna end up with a Remmington or Mossberg and slap a nice thubhole stock on it from Boyd's.

I have seen a few that were in my price range, but they had already been cut short and tached out for home defence. I think what I need is a full barreled version that I can convert to PG or that is already converted but not cut short.

Thanks Wolverine.

I'll get a Saiga S12 only if the price is right. If they start price gouging the Saigas then they'll have a lot of Saigas to sell without customers. The only reason I got my Saiga rifle is because it was an inexpensive AK based rifle. I found out that I could convert it from this forum. While I like the Saiga shotguns I won't pay an exorbitant price for one. Saiga magazines are expensive enough already.

These are my feelings exactly! I would love to be able to hunt with a Saiga. But right now Im looking at the total cost of a good shotgun for my needs. Whats a mildly used Saiga 12 going for right now...$500....Or more?

Thats the same price as the Remington 870express super mag. Which, by the way, comes with 2 barrels (one rifled slug barrel) and can fire 2 3/4, 3, and 3 1/2" loads! Dunhams has these for $369 with a $50 mail in rebate bringing it down to $319. There is a really nice over under there for $299. And they even sell a 20" Mossberg home defence model that holds 9 rounds for $339. Never mind the "coach gun" side by side that sells for around $200.

I could get a shotgun for hunting and one for home defence for the same price as 1 Saiga if the price on them gets any steeper. As much as I love the idea of having an AK chambered in 12 guage in my collection, the rising prices on them will steer me toward another shotgun. Not to mention, there is no manufacturers support on them. If I buy a Remington or Mossberg and break it, I can send it away to return again whole. If I break my S12, Im shit outa luck. Not that breaking a Saiga is very possible. But the support is not there for them like a domestic shotgun. Yes, the Saiga12 is the bad boy of shottys right now, but I'm only willing to go so far.

I agree with you 100% UziTiger, I only know what a Saiga is because they were so inexpensive. Now that I know them and like them, I would like to have another. But not at more than the price of a supported, domestic shotty.....Or more. I'll keep an eye out for one. But I'm not holding my breath.

I just bought a Saiga for $350 they are out there just keep looking $500 is too much. I you want a hunting gun stick with a Mossberg or Remington or any of many make and model shotguns, that's cool. But if you want the best tactical shotgun on earth as a project gun get a Saiga and bling the crap out of it. If you want a Shotgun for tactical or practical match shooting the Saiga is the way to go.

If I hunt with a Saiga, its only gonna be for small game....Rabbits, squirrels, birds etc. I think it is an accurate enough shotty for that purpose. I'll use a rifle for deer. I haven't given up yet. Still looking for the kind of deal you found! Theres a gun show comming around Harrisburg again soon, maybe I'll get lucky.

The Remington 3 1/2" super mag is starting to look damn good though. :super:
