snatale42 0
Ok, so I threaded my barrel as I read here by cutting off the first 5/8th of an inch of the front sight post shroud and everything went to plan. When I added my 74 style muzzle brake I noticed the inside of the brake the thread went really deep. I did some very non-scientific measuring and it would APPEAR that I could go back more and slam the brake right up against the front sight post as the real 74's have them. Am I missing something?, Maybe it's just this brake that happens to have really deep threads (Tapco 74 style) and isn't typical but IF I can get away with it I'd like to have the authentic look. Need some advise from somebody that may know better before I do something I may regret. I'll wait before I do it for advise.
fast2gnt 16
I normally thread a 1/2" or 13mm past the point I cut it from.
