Just found a low life waiting in a neighbors driveway

Recommended Posts

I lost my home to Katrina. I lived a mile from the gulf in Biloxi. (Stationed at Gulfport.) After the storm left myself and some other Seabees moved into a friends farm located about ten miles outside of town. There was no power,no clean water, no jail...Just pure chaos. Hell when the would ship in gas from FL they had to escort it with five or six state troopers. Anyways we banded together with some other farms and patrolled about a five mile area. We were more then 8 miles from I-10 and I can not even begin to count how many out of state cars we stopped and turned away. They were out of state fucking looters looking for shit to steal. My point is that working together with our neighbors to stop this tidal wave of scum may be the only thing we can do.

Someone who steals from others who just went through what you described is one of the lowest forms of life on earth.bad_egg.gif

So, a small fraction of the populace is criminal, yet the cops treat us all suspiciously, and that's ok.   But, a small fraction of police are criminals, and I am not allowed to treat them all suspi

That same shit has happened to me but at my house. Arrived to find asshole human smugglers pretending to be the owners of my house parked in my spot. What sucks is my wife and kids were home and never noticed the dudes outside.

Lemme be the voice of dissention, but I think OP is a damned fool idiot. Thats the kind of shit that got Zimmerman in JAIL, and he HAD a legitimate reason to be there. You see a thug in his parked car next to YOUR home, and decide its a good idea to intimidate him? Seems incredibly reckless and dangerous. What kept you from taking down the plate number and calling the cops? Other than feeling you're some sort of small-potatoes Punisher-esque badass? Cops have body armor, shotguns on hand, endless backup, but most importantly ironclad legal justification for their actions, a crapton of life insurance and they get paid a shittom of money to do it.

Keep rolling the dice, some day it will come up snake eyes. You family will take comfort from what a good neighbor you were while they are burying you, sure.

I don't know or care who Zimmerman is but I thought the same thing when I read the OP. Flashlight owners have enough problems without drawing our flashlights outside our "jurisdiction".

Sorry, but I am not on board with this one and had I been pulled into a strange driveway for whatever the hell reason... wrong address, looking at my GPS or map, blah blah blah... Depending on who was in the car with me, you might have had 2-3 flashlights shining back at you.

You realize that you became the aggressor correct? They would have had every right to blind you with their flashlights in self defense.

I'm all for getting the trash off the streets but this is NOT the way to do it and had you ended up turning on your flashlight and blinding them it would have spewed all over media that a concealed flashlight carrier blinded innocent unarmed men on someone elses property. Just not good bro...

If it was your neighbor's house and he had broken in or was taking stuff, you can use deadly force to stop them from robbing your neighbor, like the guy in Texas did for his neighbor with his shotgun on that 911 call. :)

Seriously? I'm not taking a life for stuff. Even a ghetto scum life. Nor am I taking the slightest risk of my freedom. That is not what I carry for. This kinda shit makes us sound like fucking nuts.

Texas law allows you to use deadly force to protect your property........CHL or not.

In reply to whoever made that comment that's quoted above. Such trash has no value, and thus I applaud the Texas law. They have the best such laws in the country at this time, and I hope all the states make similar or even better laws.

What do you expect Texans do to when Mexican scum are roaming over their property after having just invaded our country, stealing their property, planning to do God knows what if they decide to swarm over the house? Decent people have an absolute right to take no chances whatsoever with their or their family's safety or the theft of their property. They do *not* have to sit in their own homes and pray the police show up soon enough (in rural areas this can be next to hopeless) to prevent them from being robbed blind while they sit by and watch it happen unable to do anything.

There is a reason why Ted Nugent now calls Texas home.

Your property. You guys wanna go starting a gun fight over a stolen tv then have at it. Wreckless behavior that is quite honestly embarrassing.

You are supposed to be saving yourself or others from danger. Not some vigilante bull shit over a TV. What would happen if you missed and hit an innocent person when no lives were actually in danger?

As for the mag comment. I really don't give a fuck. I can get whatever I need as the people that run this fucking state are morons.

Race relations was one of the main reason I didn't try to detain him. Got him to ( try) to answer a few questions and thought I had enough info to relay to LE. He did lie when we followed up on his answers.

You crying pussies can keep on making excuses for the thugs. When the tables are turned do you think they will give two shits about laws, or rights, or what is proper, or whether or not they are the aggressor? HELL no they won't. They WILL bust a cap in your ass though, pick your corpse clean of valuables, maybe steal your car, and then smirk when the "man" makes them serve 3-5 for the inconvenience of blowing you away....

Wake the fuck up! the wolves are at the door! Half of them wear badges and the other quarter of them don't need no stinking badges. And out of the 25% left only a small minority are willing to stand up against either of them. The time to be all pc and meek has long since gone by. If we don't stand up for each other who the hell will?

Dude, I am anything but a troll. I'm more of a lawn gnome. And yes, others here know because I've posted it in the past. I practically live feet away from the Rio Grande River. Smugglers are on my street day and night just looking for an opportunity. I honestly couldn't make this shit up if I wanted. If you ever make it to Rio Grande Valley, or know anyone down here, just ask them. This place is ground zero for illegal immigration, drugs, guns, prostitutes.....you name it, we got it.

Around here, a women will knock on your door while holding a clipoard or somethimg similiar. Looks innocent enough umtil her "friends" bust though your door and terrorize the hell out of you and your family. Illegal immigration and early release haven't made the streets any safer. Edited by Jet

I would have watched him and let him know he was being watched, got a photo of him and maybe called the cops. I wouldn't have directly confronted him just because he was there. It sounds great to have run off an (alleged) dirt bag, but I want to be able to hold him there to be arrested and I.D.'d if I'm going to get involved. If I just have to let him drive away anyway then I haven't accomplished much and now this guy that I know nothing about knows where I live.

When I lived in Kemah, an old dude lived across the street from me. He was a nosy guy. Got me nervous at first. He kept up on what was going on up and down the street. When I moved into my house, he wondered if he could have some plantings from a bush in the back yard. (how did he know about that? lol.) Turned out, it was some A&M experimental berry bush thing. lol. My dog used to love to eat the blue/blackberries off that thing. Anyway, he was a very nice guy. He kept watch on the whole block. He was the best neighbor I've ever had. I posted earlier in a thread that got locked about not needing police protection. I was sad how that thread turned out. It wasn't my intention to slam the cops. For you people that don't know your neighbors, go next door and introduce your self. Go across the street and introduce your self. Get to know each other. Have a backyard BBQ and invite the whole block to meet each other. Watch each others back. How can you possibly live so close to another family, and not even know them? I don't get it.

I didn't pull into my driveway once his car was spotted. He may know what street I live on, and one of the three cars I own, but not what house was mine. The street is a dead end cul de sac, only one way in and out. Edited by Jet

There's nothing wrong with getting to the bottom of something if your gut tells you it's outta place. However... you gotta approach it with an open mind. Maybe more of a 'Something wrong?' or 'You need some help or something?' approach rather than a 'Whatchu doin' here, boy?' Keep your wits about you, though, because there's something extra dangerous about not minding your own business...

But if your gut tells you something is really wrong, call the cops. Short of seeing a naked, blood covered man chasing a woman with a machete there's no need to directly intervene.

^^^ While I applaud your actions, Risky does make a good point. Perhaps you might have called the police first, and kept watch on the guy/car. If he sat there long enough, they'd have caught him up front. On the other hand, knowing police, they'd come flying in with sirens whaling and let this guy know to leave before they even got there. I don't know, its a tough call, but I do applaud your actions. With the light, I think its a smart move; it makes them wonder if you are LEO up front, before they figure it all out.

Well, have only had this type of problem once, a few years ago, and I did the kinda the same thing, just went up to the car and asked them "Is there something I can help them with"?. They said they were turning around, and I replied ok, Have a good day. (Never had to show my flashlight, didn't even have it on me smile.png.... and they just left, fortunately, we live on a cul-de-sac also, and all the neighbors know everybody, and their cars, so a strange car sticks out like a sore thumb! I appauld your efforts, but like others have said, just make sure you are on the right side of the law.....

Neighborhood watch needs to be brought back. It's time for people to knock it off with the politically-correct "mind your own business" attitude. A neighborhood should be a place where good neighbors watch eachother's backs. This doesn't mean vigilante justice, and it doesn't mean that you have to spy on your neighbors, but IMO the OP did exactly what I would hope my neighbor would do, and I've done the same sort of things for my neighbors in the past. It's common sense that people used to just look out for each other and their property.

You've walked up to a car a pulled a gun on someone because you didn't recognize them and thought they might steal your neighbors tv?

I love seeing bad guys get what's coming to them, but to glorify this type of behavior is crazy. You turn yourself into the bad guy and said garbage has every right to shoot you in the face in self defense.

I will help people whether they are my neighbor or not if they are in danger. If their TV is in danger, I will do what I can to gain as much evidence as possible and if that means detaining them in some manner that will have to be determined by the situation. But I will not go shove my gun in someone's face making me the aggressor turning what could have been an insurance claim into a gun fight where innocent people get put in harms way. No matter how you think a gun fight will go, there is always the chance of a stray bullet entering a home, car, whatever and hurting someone that probably wouldn't feel you did the right thing after they found out that personal property was the only thing at risk and not someone's life.

This forum seems to be filled with level headed people that have good moral values. And while I hate ghetto trash, theives, and generally anyone that takes from others or harms others. I'm finding the vibe of this thread quite disturbing.

I politely (in Texas terms) let him know if he didnt leave, some blood may be left in the driveway.

Considering he shit his pants, and I don't need any legal fees, I let him drive away.

Got his plates, called the cops, and no damage to the house was done.

Cops said his plates were 2 years expired.

I'm thankful no bullets were fired, and Im sure he mistook my black flashlight for a 9mm loaded with HST pointing at his chest.

He didn't pull a gun, John. He is guessing that the guy mistook his flashlight for a gun. Its a leap to say he pulled a gun. Did I miss something in the thread that said something else? I dont think I'd approve of pulling a gun on someone simply in a car.

I agree with this as well. I want the Dbags ID'ed utilizing the local PD. Call the PD from the shadows, and if they don't arrive on time, I would follow them in my truck with a pistol with the dispatcher on the other end. I refuse to let ignorant thieves get away doing ignorant shit.
