YOT 3,743
Blue Loctite / red tube. Ironic, to say the least. Not new news, but I've never been able to understand it.
Sdustin 578
A blue tube would require different raw materials. They can just change the label this way. That's all I can figure.
U.S. Pratorean 1,234
They also have a Loctite Green in a red tube with a blue top.

poolingmyignorance 2,191
Iconic red tube trade mark?
termite 463
At least the word Blue is actually Blue and not Red, it would really mess with your head if the word Blue was colored Red.
Gaddis 1,689
What's really fun was the days of the three different Hodgdon "Clays" reloading powders all with different burning rates.
Syndicate 812
Redtube... darn wrong one...
Remek 771
Gotta love those marketing morons. Make the blue a blue tube only, and red, a red tube only! Its hard enough for a middle aged idiot like me to ever get the right soda, with caffine-free, sugar-free, regular, and caffine and sugar- free, all with small variations. This is just ridiculous for me!
Sdustin 578
I can see why they try to not keep blue tubes red tubes and now green tubes, ect. It saves money for them and in turn us. I don't mind reading a label. Could you imagine if all the actual lock tight was gray or blue or whatever color and just was labeled removable or perm. That would be even harder for you old people with coke bottle glasses.
Maxwelhse 1,285
I have an "ok" rubber and plastics background from a manufacturing standpoint, and I'm at a loss for words..... LAZY is about all I can come up with!
horatio 515
Blue Loctite / red tube. Ironic, to say the least. Not new news, but I've never been able to understand it. amen to that. i work in really dimly lit situations often, and i use both red and blue loctites for diferent components. usually i wrap the "blue " one in blue electricians tape so as not to screw up. Sdustin 578
Max why is it lazy to have the same tube for all products and label them? If anything seems smart to me save money and logistics.
jmzzl 146
I usually use Permatex threadlocker, and their bottles are colored correctly.

uzitiger 193
Permatex and Loctite are the same company owned by the German firm Henckels. The red Loctite is harder to remove and is used in applications where you want to keep the fastener from loosening. Edited May 12, 2013 by uzitiger
