EthanM 514
Didn't see a thread about this so what's all the gamer's opinions on the Xbox one Personally I like the hardware upgrades and that sort of thing but all the voice controlled crap, cable, Skype etc seems like too much. I would rather just have a gaming console forget all the other stuff. Lol I already have everything I need for that. But that's just me. Lol

ShadowFire 220
I live where I can't play on line. No dsl because (And I'll name names) AT&T and Comcast won't drag their shit out here and hook me up (Fuck them). They want my area to become a suburb where the yards are so small that all of your neighbors are nosey and bossy before they move out here. Since it seems that Xbox wants to forget that Rural America has more population than all the cities combined (It's just so vast that we can spread out, mind our own business and live better.) then they can go ahead and keep that console. I don't have service out here, I can't do the cloud on time-critical games. So since I can't buy my games online like they want me to and there is talk that I will not be allowed to share a game with my friends (Which has lead me to buying a copy of my own, so they still got their money from me.) they can keep their console, I'm not buying. poolingmyignorance 2,191
It's not backwards compatible. You can ONLY play online. You have to pay for each game, then you have to pay monthly subscription so you can continue to play a game you already paid for. And then everything else is stored in the cloud. No, not interested. Oh I'm sure it won't be long before some jackass starts making viruses for it and then they'll just HAVE to sell you some antivirus to go with that too!

Yes - it is not backwards compatible No - you can only play online, just like most other systems a lot of features are online only content, but things such as single player modes and watching movies do not require internet connection. Yes - you have to pay for each game, but didn't you already have to do that? No - you have to pay a monthly subscription. Each game has its own license key that gets installed to your profile when you put the disk into your system to keep piracy down there will be no monthly payments involved. If you bring your game to a friends house to play you have to bring your profile along with it. If you buy the game used or want to take it to a friends house (and not bring your profile) you have to buy a "one time only license fee". Yes - there is cloud storage, But you will still have a regular hardrive to save your normal stuff to. There was a press question and answer with microsoft after the reveal of it and all of these questions were adressed. Edited June 1, 2013 by Aermacchi 125
EthanM 514
The non backwards compatibility really sucks! I will prob buy one eventually but it will be a little while after it releases.
brandon402 86
The non backwards compatibility is nothing new though, when we went from xbox to 360, it was the same situation. But, I am with you on the fact that I dont need all this stupid shit that they are putting into this game console. They put so much emphasis on the ability to change inputs by a simple word, but.... I can currently touch a button and do the same thing. I have not reached the level of laziness or ineptitude that requires me to rely on my voice and not my finger to change inputs. I buy gaming consoles to game, not to watch tv, movies, browse the interwebs, or any of that crap. My 360 is for making 12 year olds feel horrible about themselves when an old 33 year old geezer like me schools them in COD (lol), not to track my fantasy basketball team or keep up with whats going on on Facebook...... This "one device to rule them all" is getting stupid. The xbox One may have me switch to the ps4 for future gaming. If the graphics and gameplay and all that have moved forward exponentially, then I will purchase it. If not, I wont.
Syndicate 812
360 wasn't really baco either, it just had ports of old games. I'd rather have the latest tech than something older due to baco forcing it because new hardware won't allow it. I'm moving more and more to PC gaming at this point, my YouTube channel partners are shitting their pants because they are attached at the dick to their consoles and I'm sick of them. I'll put it like this Crysis came out in 2008 and it still looks better than the new COD demo. In fact it's still not common place at all to have a computer be able to run it full bore. Lone Eagle 839
I have a 360, and playing the older stuff is hit-or-miss as far as running. Some of my older games work fine, some freeze halfway through, some won't load at all. I had two suffer the red ring of death, but Microsnot covered them under warranty. Last one lasted over a year before puking, and I used the Marine's way of refurbishing it.

Rhodes1968 1,638
And if the "One" fails preventing you from getting your "profile" off? No just no, given those pricks too much already.

Well your profile is cloud saved, all you really need is your email adress and password and you can login from any xbox.

HappYBallZ 31
Won't even touch that thing with 1000 foot pole. Microsoft is acting arrogantly more and more ... they keep pushing "their way" down everyone's throat. This started couple years back but especially so with Windows 8 where they forced the gay-ass looking and ridiculous to use Metro/"Modern" UI on everyone, which obviously needed to go only on touchscreen tablets. Now with Xbox-One they are pushing their other faggot-filled "Cloud" shit that none asked for. Not to mention they basically killed the 2nd hand games market...good luck buying those used games for $10-$15 ... now they want to double dip and charge you for a "license" to (re)-use it. Microsoft basically told most of their customers to deal with it or go fuck themselves, because they "know" what is better for them ( the customers). Apparently they been hanging around with Apple too long. So I say fuck them, I have my high-end PC that xbox will never touch and a xbox 360 that I play socially with my friends when they are over. Specs on it are shit anyways, maybe decent for a console but still consist of shit that was considered mediocre on a 2-3 year old hand-built PC. Not to mention creepy as-fuck "opt-out" option that you HAVE to select if you do not want Kinect to spy on you and your family and data-mine your information and then possibly spam you with advertisements or sell your data to 3rd party. By the way Microsoft recently applied for a patent on a device (kinect) that would track individual objects, people, pets etc. and "offer" (push) services(advertisements) on you. I guess for the next refresh of x-box they will want you to buy a license for each person sitting in front of TV that it detects. If you got a dog or cat sitting next to you I guess it will push animal food advertisements on you. Maybe even charge you a for each breath and fart you take while playing. Fuck today's Microsoft. Unless they change their creepy-as-hell of lately ways then HELL NO I AM NOT BUYING IT! Edited June 2, 2013 by HappYBallZ

montec 164
I was a 360 gamer until I got perma banned while my 360 was unplugged and I was doing a house remodel. Before that I was Nintendo and PS2. I've given up on consoles. I still got my PS2, Gamecube, N64. I'm gone PC now. Wife has a wii and the only thing we use that for is Netflix streaming. Now the PS3 sounds much more hardware intensive and not using 2yrs ago tech in them. I have an issue paying to use a console that you paid for a game to just to play online. There is a reason I never though Wow or any other similar subscription game.

MegamanX 65
Just build your own gaming computer. It will be amazing in the long run. When you get more tech savvy you'll realize how much you are limiting yourselves to just playing on consoles.
