evi1joe 1
It just started doing this (third outing) and can be duplicated by hand. If you let off the trigger fast IT DOES RESET, BUT if you ride it at all, it doesn't reset. ALSO, if you push on the trigger pin, it resets--if the trigger pin is pushed to the right a bit when it's set, you just push it to the left, if you push it to the left a bit, you just push it to the right (it DEFAULTS to having to push from right to left (from back of rifle looking forward)). BUT if it IS the INTERFACE of hammer/trigger, then WHY did it just BEGIN to do this on his 3rd range trip? (Maybe he was not easing off the trigger the first 2 times?) Anyway, everything looks in place (see pics). I do THINK the hammer might have a LITTLE bit too much meat on it--seems the leading edge where the trigger catches on it has a slight curve (see pics)--I'll polish it, but won't take any material off. Also going to polish under the trigger a bit. It seems like the springs are either not pushing down on the trigger enough to overcome letting the hammer loose to reset if you let off SLOWLY and ride it...this has to be trigger/hammer interface, the trigger rubbing the receiver a bit on slow releases/riding it, or something. Again, it works fine if you don't ride the trigger at all, but let it snap back. PICS of it HUNG on the hammer's EDGE (#2, #6 and #8 I think show this best), PLUS pics of the inside and spring location--all looks good, all springs in right place, etc: HUNG--> HUNG--> HAMMER'S EDGE CLOSE UPS...maybe you can see the slight curve to it...wonder if that should be filed a bit (not by me!): TRIGGER OUTSIDE RECEIVER (on the right side it's a bit close to the receiver, but I doubt this is causing it--though I've seen it in other AKs): SPRINGS PULLED OUT OF WAY:
Run and Gun 25
Is your trigger rubbing your grip? I ran into this with my AK.
thebuns1 4,323
I take it you do have the diconnector spring in place. Try keeping the trigger pulled to the rear and push the hammer into the disconnector and release the trigger. There may be a bur on the hammer causing it to stick on the disconnector. Hard to tell from the angle of the pics. Just a suggestion. or just try a new hammer and see what happens.
evi1joe 1
Yeah, I sanded down where the hammer was hanging on the disconnect/sear (?) and polished that, then I went and polished the disconnect (sear?) where it catches the hammer. Problem solved. Can't get it to catch no matter how slow I release it....did 100 cycles and as slow as possible. STILL--why would it start doing this on the 3rd outing?! That's what baffles me...and worries me. Someone said Arsenal 2-stage triggers were notorious for reset issues and recommended a single stage. Anyone ever heard that? It is a bit gritty on taking up the slack. Edited July 9, 2013 by jflow25
cguiro 29
Axis pin may not be in spec allowing fcg to move
thebuns1 4,323
I wouldn't let it worry you. I never had any problems with the Arsenal 2 stage triggers on any of my weapons. But anything mass produced can have small flaws.
