Remek 771
I had a Norinco SKS, once, that couldn't shoot better than a 6" group past 50 yards, so I have something to compare my AKs to. I like the weight of the stamped AKs. Anything shooting 5.45 is a great AK in my book (albeit, I've never fired a 5.56 AK). Funny. I have a Norinco SKS, and it shoots much better than you are saying. At 50 yards, I do about 2" tops. Best SKS? Those that enter my safe. I love to tinker, so if it doesn't work, I will make it do so myself, and be all the more happy with it due to the work. nsnate02 32
A properly converted Vepr is hard to beat in fit finish and performance. I have yet to see anything that really compares to it. It's heavy, so that's it's only drawback. If you call it that.
