Doug Hartley 526 Posted September 20, 2013 Report Share Posted September 20, 2013 I have an Aimpoint H-1 and a Burris Fast Fire II on my competition Saigas. Both work well but the H-1 has the advantage of more brightness settings and will work when wet. If you get water on any sight that uses reflected light it can have problems when there is water on the lens. I'm using Saiga optic mounts from R&R Targets. Most of the dot sights from C-More, Burris, Aimpoint and Doctor will work fine on your shotgun. Stay away from sights that cost less than $100, they are cheap junk made in China and will fail when you really need them. Doug 2 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

I went to the AImpoint R1 (same as the H1 but silver) for a while and its a great sight but I did not care for the forward mounting of the dot. I went with the Arredondo mount because it sticks the sight close to my eye giving me a maximum field of view and this mount also lowers the sight as much as possible to help with off set issues. I use the tip of the triangle sighted in for slugs and I use the whole triangle like a red dot for close in shot targets.Pat Quote Link to post Share on other sites

topmaul 42 Posted January 25, 2014 Report Share Posted January 25, 2014 (edited) I have a FF mounted on the barrel about a foot back from the muzzle so I can co-witness with the original sites if necessary. I guess my question is can a FF stand that abuse? Should I put my Delta Point up there instead? My logic is if it fails I can go to irons although I'd rather not have it fail. I have been manufacturing the reflex sight mounts that bring the sight to the rear of the receiver for six years and I agree it is very effective but I can not move my head forward with the Arredondo sight mount the way I like to do. HB of CJ 1,263 Posted March 30, 2014 Report Share Posted March 30, 2014 The keeper S12 has the common Eoteck mounted using that factory receiver rail. Do not know off hand what model. Has the red circle with the red dot in the middle. Works just fine. At about 25 yards, everything inside the red circle quickly dies. FWIW, the factory receiver rail had to be removed and relocated. The Eoteck as first mounted was way way off the bore axis. The cure was to remove that pesky receiver rail and shim it with precision spacers. Fun and easy to do. Took one afternoon. Be sure to consider a scope mount that places the mount and the scope high up enough soss you can get the top cover off without having to remove the scope or mount.
