Yugopap4me 29
I've heard of people making scaled down car engines. But this is on another level. I like how the table starts to move haha http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=5a4_1379703875
IndyArms 10,186
They have had scale model jet engines for a long time for the " realism " RC model plane guys, way smaller than that one... Not saying its not impressive... That was pretty badass... just not really "new"...
yakdung 2,926
Too cool. I love jet engines:
Yugopap4me 29
No shit?! I knew they made micro liquid fuel rocket engines...I remember seeing one go for 1,000 dollars....and that was the cheapest one. I didn't know they made micro RC jet engines. That just blew my mind
Sim_Player 1,939
Yup. That's the style the human glider guy used on each leg. It looked fun. Jet engines are notorious for high maintenance. The bearings can wear pretty fast. Also, don't try riding through a sandstorm. No airfilter I like the bike idea. Instead of using jet exhaust as thrust, they coupled the motor to a gearbox, just like a turbo-prop. Edited September 21, 2013 by Sim_Player
kevinfreel 215
The jet Rc planes make a nice fireball when they hit a tree at 200 mph.
mancat 2,368
Saw Leno demonstrate his once. They have a lot of throttle lag, like most turbines.
XD45 7,124
I saw one of those turbine bikes (not jet) on the road in Scottsdale a few years back. Actually I heard it first.

JESS1344 if the turbine grenades, fuel won't matter because you'll probably get chopped to bits by rotor blades anyway. we've had a couple steam turbines grenade in recent years on the ships I work on. the blades have taken out steam and utility lines, and even embedded themselves in hull steel.
