tyson0317 0
I bought a Saiga 12 shotgun that has been converted with a pistol grip by the PO who did not give me the original parts. I've been reading about these conversions and my understanding is that it needs to be 922r compliant with so many US-made parts. Calculators online have been very helpful. However, I cannot figure out how to tell if my trigger parts (trigger, sear and hammer) are US-made. I am very familiar with the AK system, but don't have much experience with the 922r stuff. I looked at US-made parts and they don't look different from mine. I expected them to be stamped with "US" or something, but the 922 parts that I see for sale online don't seem to be stamped either. So how do I know that my parts are, or are not US-made?
Cobra 76 two 2,677
They should have a US stamp on them somewhere or maybe circular stamp with a "C" for Century Arms.
Matthew Hopkins 1,065
the most widely and commonly used US trigger parts used for conversion are TAPCO, they will have their name molded on there with USA. but they also could be what cobra wrote, a CENTURY. tyson0317 0
So if there is no stamp they are original?
Cobra 76 two 2,677
They aren't the original S-12 parts if it's been converted from sporter config. Can you post a pic? If they don't have C, a funny looking A (accompanied by US, or some kind of US stamp on each part somewhere, they are probably foreign and should be replaced if you need the compliance parts. I am looking at the pics on miday's website of the Tapco group and I dont see any stamps there either! http://media.midwayusa.com/productimages/2200x1650/primary/537/537906.jpg I'll see if I can figure out the picture thing. Matthew Hopkins 1,065
for one reason or another, they aren't showing the side that the name is on. it will be on the other side, like this picture shows Edited September 27, 2013 by Matthew Hopkins
