Bought some dinosaur repellent

I've wanted one of these since I was a little kid, finally found the right one at the right price at the right time.  Not purchased to fill any niche other than a fun-gun, but it is a blast to shoot and draws a nice crowd at the range.  This one luckily has the cross bolt safety, not the lever.  I only had to replace the folding-stock buffer which I made myself out of a 1" piece of polyurethane stock, the recoil buffer is still in good shape but I will probably swap it out for a urethane replacement as well.  I'd really like to find a factory sling for it, but haven't had any luck searching so far.

Either way, my Saiga is still more practical but it's pretty awesome finally picking up one of these for nostalgia's sake.

Make sure you don't deploy the folding stock until the last possible moment.   Then awkwardly try to look down the barrel with it tucked under your armpit before shouldering it properly.  If time constraints force you to choose, be sure to deliver your catch phrase before swinging the shotgun towards the target.  That's the how the pros do it.

Have you seen that hook that attaches to the folding butt pad part of the stock? It is used as a carry handle and as a hook to hook around your forearm of the firing arm. Its kind of like those new pistol stabilizers for ar15s and sig 556.

Also be sure to only take one shell of 2 3/4 buck shot.. After all why would you need more then one shell if there are only three animals trying to kill you. And be sure to avoid open ground as claws have a longer range then shotguns...

So upon buying my SPAS 12, I've found that nobody sells replacement parts or buffers for these with any regularity now.  I've taken on the project myself, non-profit.  So if anyone ever needs a buffer hopefully now they'll be able to find one.  The project site is in my sig and avatar.

Weird, I just bought a barrel for a spas. I paid 40 shipped. Was going to cannibalize for other projects but found its a brand new barrel with thread protector. It's such a work of art barrel too. That texture of the straight chromoly tube, the cross hatch hone marks inside. If the rest of the gun matches this thing it's gotta be a neat but quality gun.
