brickfield mfg 86 Posted October 12, 2013 Report Share Posted October 12, 2013 If the bolt carrier is slamming the rear trunion, you are getting too much gas. It is best to start with the smallest opening, and work to a larger one, until you are getting reliable cycling for that particular load. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
Tundra1 391 Posted October 12, 2013 Report Share Posted October 12, 2013 You can put a small piece of masking tape where the carrier would make contact with the trunion and see if the tape gets marred up. I actually use a recoil buffer for piece of mind. I have accidentally fired heavy loads with gas wide open on my V plug. Mine runs reliably with it shooting high brass, but they are notorious for causing cycling problems etc. Many do not recommend them. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
