David Mark 2,452
My H&K MP5 A5 needed a case so I decided to try something different. Got a cheap hard plastic violin case on line. Gutted it. Cut a new interior from sheet styrofoam. Covered it with fabric and added some velcro straps for the mags and here you have it. This should be good for a chuckle or two at the range.

Nice work! What did it cost to make? About $80.00 give or take a buck or two. That's awesome! What is the length of the case? You got me thinking now...! 31 1/2" long and 10 1/2" wide at widest point. Thanks for the kind words guys!

sobrenegade 795
Gee, I wish my hands were that steady cutting styrofoam. I have trouble with plywood. Great jobs both of you. I love being given new incentives. I'll need a bigger case for my fixed stock version. Thanks for the ideas.

David Mark 2,452
what kind of foam or does it matter? I used foam sheets from a local craft store. I think it was being sold for floral arrangements.

You can sand the stuff too. I was able to roll overall the sharp edges with some medium grit sandpaper. Edited October 13, 2013 by DaveM
