My H&K MP5 A5 needed a case so I decided to try something different.

Got a cheap hard plastic violin case on line.

Cut a new interior from sheet styrofoam.

Covered it with fabric and added some velcro straps for the mags and here you have it.

This should be good for a chuckle or two at the range.

Good job.  Nostalgic too.

Thanks for sharing.

I'll admit that the gangsters of the 1920's crossed my mind.

Nice work!  What did it cost to make?

About $80.00 give or take a buck or two.

That's awesome! What is the length of the case? You got me thinking now...!

31 1/2" long and 10 1/2" wide at widest point.

Thanks for the kind words guys!

what kind of foam or does it matter?

I used foam sheets from a local craft store. I think it was being sold for floral arrangements.

Is it the hard green stuff they stick flowers in? I can see how you cut it with a jigsaw then.

Yep that is the stuff.

Edit to add. You can sand the stuff too. I was able to roll overall the sharp edges with some medium grit sandpaper.
