Unknown Poster 5
What kind of accuracy can I expect from my 16" barreled saiga at 100yds using Russian ammo?
mancat 2,368
With Russian steel-cased .223? Probably 3-5MOA? Some steel-cased Russian .223 is more consistent than others. Varying by plants: Tula worst, Ulyanovsk better, Barnaul and Vympel probably the best. Only one way to find out. Edited October 28, 2013 by mancat
Jaba1017 71
The rifle should be about 3moa plus or minus. Freehand with irons any group sub 6moa you can be happy with.
TonyRumore 1,332
I don't know about with Russian ammo, but several years ago I took a pair of .223 Saiga's and shot a pile of groups with different handloads. I used a 12x Leupold Target scope for the test. Out of all the groups combined (5 shots at 100 yards) the average was 2.25" for one rifle and 2.5" for the other. Some groups were down around an inch, but others were up around 4" or so. Tony
Nailbomb 10,221
That's promising I need to sight mine in yet. Long barrels fare any better?
jerry52 893
I have had great luck with the batch of Ammotech 223 the last time I was at a gun show a few years back, much tigher than tula and wolf.
