gunfun 3,931 Posted November 4, 2013 Report Share Posted November 4, 2013 If I recall correctly the 45/60 was made to be able to use their platform designed mainly as a pistol caliber carbine with a larger round. Shortly thereafter they made a larger action which could lift and chamber a larger round so it became obsolete. I might have my facts wrong though so don't take my word for it.
