Article on ARMSCOR Philippines

Recommended Posts

Here is an article written by a colleague and published in my newspaper, Manila Bulletin about ARMSCOR Philippines; for those of you who are interested.

The company has come a long, long way in terms of innovation and quality since when I was a teenager (I'm 41 now). I'm most proud of their 1911's but their .22's and other stuff is looking pretty cool. They make fairly reliable and inexpensive ammunition too.

Not bad. Personally I never cared for the armscor 22 ammo.

I do own a old  pre ban M1600 with both full wood and collapsible stocks, haven't played with that in years.

I LOVE the Armscor 1911s. I sold mine to a friend who wanted to build an SBR. He has an original Colt 1911 made in 1917, a modern Colt 1911 reproduction, and a stainless Kimber - the Armscor cheapie I sold him is the most reliable 1911 he owns.

My Charles Daly 1911A1 was built there.  Other than the ambi safety coming apart because it wasn't machined correctly, it's just as rock solid and accurate as my bud's Kimber.  I ended up redoing the safety myself to a left side and all is good now.

I'm not 100% sure, but that may be one of the pistols that's assembled on an Armscor frame, but is mostly made here in the States.
