Tigerclaw_x 1
Okay, I googled the heck out of my firefox. Here are STRAIGHT questions. I would appreciate STRAIGHT answers. 1. How sturdy are SGM mags? 2. How are they compared to Tapco Galil Mags? 3. In Slab Sided Saiga, do I need to do ANYTHING to STEEL Galil mags to make them work? 4. Okay M85 mags need to be field in front and back. Any more details on how much. 5. Please, do not tell me buy Bulgarian mags, they are $44 each. Thank you.
ResponsiveResolve 7
Okay, I googled the heck out of my firefox. Here are STRAIGHT questions. I would appreciate STRAIGHT answers. 4. Okay M85 mags need to be field in front and back. Any more details on how much. Thank you. FRONT of the mag in two places 1. File the front sides(Left and right) to clear the front trunnion (look at factory mag) 2. File very front to clear the bullet guide ( if you have a bullet guide) Rear of the mag in two places 1. file down from the top of the mag to clear the receivers support bar (again look at factory mag to see how flat it is on the back side) 2. file the angled part of the back of the mag(above the tab) to shorten the width ( may or may not have to do this but mine was hitting the receiver right above the mag release) All this and the mag is not tested yet so please do so at your own risk. I'm still waiting to test fire mine.
Tigerclaw_x 1
THANK YOU, Mr ResponsiveResolve. I greatly appreciate your advice and I will look forward to your report on live ammo testing. Now for the others. 1. SGM SAiga 223 mag or TAPCO Galil Mag? Tapco galil is cheaper, neither one is reinforced with steel. But if SGM is better I will get SGM. 2. How to make Steel Galil Mag fit and feed in Slab Sided HBAR saiga 223 3. Where to get NON clear BERYL mags or Bulgarian steel reinforced mags for no more than $25-$30?
canoecanoe 63
Comments on item 1. 1. SGM mags fit nice and tight. May require a little filing on the mag catch tab, depending on your rifle. Also, you will need to file/dremel the front BG portion if you have a bullet guide. I like them and they are very stout. I tried some of the tapco galil mags and found them to be unacceptably wobbly in my rifles, so I returned them. Edited November 20, 2013 by canoecanoe
mancat 2,368
Do you have steel Galil mags yet? They should snap right in to the rifle. However they need a bullet guide to function properly. You cannot use the SGM mags if you install a bullet guide. Robert RTG has the milsurp Polish 5.56 mags on a regular basis. Sometimes they are sold out for several weeks. His prices are better than majority of sellers on Gunbroker/Armslist http://www.robertrtg.com/berylclearmag.html I was really hoping that Radom would dump a lot of their new production 5.56 mags on us such as they did with the commercial 7.62x39 ones recently.. They fucked up when they partnered with IO Inc to import their stuff - shitty company. Edited November 20, 2013 by mancat

mikebaker1129 19
I picked up some of the Bulgy mags from Kvar on sale about 1 month ago for $25 ea. I regularly pick up used Polish Beryl mags for $25-26 ea.
