First, I have every right to be an ass because I am a lawful gun owner and frequent this forum and don't want it to turn into some fucking weirdo illegal gun / militia bullshit cause of idiots like yo

First of all, instead of being an ass, you could be more specific. Second, i said i JUST got the gun, meaning I haven't bought or added the American parts I need. Third, chill out.

CCCP you've got no right to be an asshole to him. He just fucking got the gun. He put the 30 in for what? Five fucking minutes? Let's see the BATF worry about him putting in an unloaded 30 round magaz

Sagt Raven , is that MI scope mount centered or off side to the left ?

It's dead-centered. I'll make another shot from the top.

It's also the lowest scope mount I ever encountered.

I'm still getting used to its locking lever (I prefer Russian flip-type) and doubtful it's best one for SHTF "scope drop".

I might go back to AK OEM style and eyeballing RS' equivalent (N/A at the time of purchasing MI).

don't take this is a criticism because it's really a constructive compliment.. that gun would be so much better looking if you would get rid of that fuglystick and go with something else.

Mancat, we're well beyond the "hurting the feelings" tap dancing.

I respect and appreciate your opinion, Brother. Really mean it. Keep chiming in.

P.S. It takes a minute to remove Fuglystick; out of curiosity: what would you suggest for replacement?

Also, at less then 4 Oz in weight difference, Fuglystick beats Saiga's (and so AK's) OEM HG in functionality.

That's a main reason of me clinging to it.

AKAR was more of the DMR for me, instead of true classic AK and its "storming rifle" ("штурмовая винтовка") designation.

I've had plenty of latter ones, and was always wanted something different.

Therefore, my "AKAR" project and its derivatives is all about the "universal platform".

(Disclaimer: I do not exclude the possibility of being delusional on the subject; but it's a Free Country after all).

Thank you all for feedback!

Might as well post mine.

I got the gun in mid October for $540, including all tax, shipping ffl etc...

It was in sporter config of course, so I bought an TAPCO Intrafuse Vertical Grip for $19.99; TAPCO Saiga Collapsible Intrafuse T6 Stock pistol grip for $62.99; Saiga Quad Rail System for $54.99.

Plus 4 SGM Surefire mags, 2 couplers and a sling.

No I didn't move the trigger assembly forward, though I'd love to.

I have the K-VAR`s KV-04-S side mount ,which is also centered and low . It is made specifically for Saigas and has the SVD type locking lever(which I very much prefer to the AK type) but modified by K-VAR for Saigas . It allows the take off scope as many times as I want ,always back to zero . Check that one before buying anything else .

My "newborn" .223 Saiga "as-received" with built-in AR magazine well and LRBHO by Definitive Arms, Tapco stock and PG and "bird cage".

Not pictured: Leatherwood CMR 1-4x red dot is idling, awaiting MI 30mm AK scope.

Planning to put extended Fuglystick vented handguard (3G-style), Hogue PG and likely ACE Skeleton stock.

You could triple what you paid for it originally...

(Not rubbing in: I wish I held to each and every firearm I ever owned).

I apologize for my English. I'm still learning. blush.png

Yes.

We have less problems with it. Since the plant can be ordered a good barrel, and manual assembly. Although some elements of tuning find difficult.
Butt for example.

With this sight and butt Saiga copies ergonomics SVD-S.

must be nice to be able to have them the way they were supposed to be, without all the extra work of doing it yourself. nice Saiga

Do not quite understand the first part of the question ...
Considered that in Russia, people can not have a tactical weapon -?

These are standard magazine by Saiga . Made by Izhmash .
Very high quality. Do not lead to delays. Better than Tapko example.

In comparison with the standard magazine 5.45 from Ak-74

Yes of course. I am happy to answer any questions. I need to learn English.

024.gif

The debate about what caliber Saiga the best, very popular in russian guns forums.

We joke - Orthodox vs Catholics = 7.62*39 vs 223 Rem. rolleyes.gif

I like the 223, it is easy and accurate. Almost no recoil.

Many good manufacturers make such cartridges.

AK 47/74 (7.62 / 5.45) in the event of war, I will receive from the state.

Have a stockpile of weapons chambered for "potential enemy" in case of a guerrilla war always a pleasure.

Joke. rolleyes.gif Rather, we will fight with the Chinese.
