New muzzle brake for my S 20

Recommended Posts

I found Dinzag to be about the only supplier of brakes for the 20 ga .

Not sure why , but had to wait ten days or so for them to ship it ( now I'm not really beeaching about this - but 90% of their competitors get stuff shipped within 3 days )

.

Got it and found it to be really neat ...... threads right on and is very heavy .  It came with these tiny lil plastic inserts that I'm assuming can be inserted into the corresponding holes in the brake . Why or what for I can only guess ( again I ain't beeching ,but would have been nice to have some form of directions/information on the lil plastic beads-as well as installation instructions , after all cost over 100$ ! )

Anyway , I think I will use Locktite Blue instead of Teflon tape (  again , I'm winging it since no instructions) and will orientate those holes " upwards" so as to have the blast gases push the barrel "down"  (at least in MY mind this seems to make sense ) .

Anyone know if I'm on the right track ??  Thanks

Well Mike 20 ga , lemme take a stab at your questions :

1)  Dinzag is top of the line , if you have to wait -it's for a good reason !  As for their competitors ....like you said yourself - no one else I know of sells muzzle breaks for the S 20 !

2)  As for those tiny plastic "buttons" :  yes , you push those into the little holes where you said you got them facing up -  that way when your target practicing and a flock of geese fly over , those little "buttons " fly up and knock the ducks out of the sky and you can act dumbfounded when the birds drop at your feet and you get a goose dinner courtesy of Dinzag !!

3) I would recommend neither Locktite nor Teflon Tape ( the latter will melt .......from what I heard , you shoot your S 20 until the barrel gets red hot ) . Instead get a big ole' tube of " Super glue"  and smear it all over real good .  Pour any left over right down the throat of the barrel ,as this will coat it and act as a protector and prolong the rifling in your barrel .

4)  Lastly , If your gonna come on here and ask silly dumb questions that even a hick would know the answer too ....... spare us the snide little sarcastic  parenthesized comments about how your not complaining ;  because we all know you really are !

Lol Make sure that flock of geese is flying low!

What brake did you get, the '74 style? I think all the "brakes" he offers have an indexing detent for use with his front sight block.

Ps, Dinzag sends those plastic plugs with every order and usually a pair of foam plugs. The one pair is for your ears to block out the screeching of the geese when they get hit by the other plugs.

Pss, the plastic plugs are for holes in the receiver when you do a conversion.

Mullet Man -

You win the cigar !!

I got the '74 , I think it's the only muzzle brake ANYONE has for the S 20 !

And I sure am glad you commented here ; I really thought those plastic "button" plugs were supposed to go in the corresponding holes in the brake !!!!  How they were gonna stay there I wasn't sure .........

I got the foam earplugs for sure - and wAS dancing around the living room at the pure joy of receiving them !
