fireman14 0
New Saiga .223 owner here! Loving the forums so far but I need help. Forgive me as I dont know much about my rifle but I am learning quickly. So the issue is this. I bought my rifle, added a few options like a quad rail, laser and flashlight, colapsable stock, a foregrip, and a red/green dot scope. I took it out run 15 rounds through it to make sure it was on target and all of a sudden the rounds began to jam as they enter the chamber. A friend told me the spring in my Promag 30 round magazine was weak and I should get a new magazine all together. I got another Promag and every other round seems to have trouble. I cant decide if I should have a guide installed or if there is an issue with the rifle.. Any suggestions?
Mullet Man 2,114
Does it work with factory magazine?

csspecs 1,987
I'd guess it needs a bullet guide or switch to SGM mags.
vulcan16 971
did someone say PROMAG?????? Try a SGM or factory mags. The built in bullet guide in Promags are prone to break.
fireman14 0
Yeah I noticed that the round coming from the left side of the mag (the side with the raised piece) seems to chamber just fine. But the round from the right side seems to catch before it enters the chamber. This happens with such great force that when the action tries to come forward, it will actually shove the bullet backwards into the shell casing. Its a wonder they dont explode! So, I suppose I will start with the SGM or factory mags and go from there. Thanks all, I will update and let you know if this is the fix..
