bert7.62x39 10
http://www.robertrtg.com/aknightsight.html Anyone had experience with these? I'm interested... they're snap-on, flip up/down, mil-surp and cheap. Thoughts? Edited December 10, 2013 by ouroboros
LuPiN8oR 333
Im really interested as well. 5$ for experimentation sounds groovy to me lol.
gunfun 3,931
Looks worth a try. Not too different from these really: http://www.nitesiters.com/Nitesiters_Handgun_Night_Sights.html You'll need to hit the sights with a flashlight to make them glow. bert7.62x39 10
RTG had the better deal but were sold out. I found some at Desert Fox Sales for $14.95 so I went ahead and ordered some. Northridge International Inc. also had some for the same price. I'll give an update after I get them...
bert7.62x39 10
...alright, I got these in... and I haven't shot with them yet but they seem to do what they said they would do. They snap on easily, flip up and down solidly and feel pretty robust and secure for what they are. I held mine up to a light bulb in the basement for not even fifteen seconds and they really do gather light and glow pretty well. Mine looked brand new and were likely never used on a rifle before. I guess I'll post on here one more time after I shoot with them and see where they're hitting / if they're hitting consistently.
Sim_Player 1,939
The front sight looks pretty large. You may have to put it right on your target, instead of underneath. Saw these on RobertRTG too. Edited December 16, 2013 by Sim_Player
bert7.62x39 10
I took these to an indoor 25 yard range. Sim, that's right, I was covering my target with the front sight. They're actually pretty accurate. I flipped them up and down a few times and they stayed zeroed. With my regular iron sights at 25 yards indoors standing with my elbows propped on the range table, I can get 1-2 inch groups give or take (I pretty much shoot exclusively Tula and Wolf steel ammo). The East German night sights were giving me roughly 3 inch groups... so they opened up a little, but that's to be expected with that bigger front sight. Granted, that was shooting in the light... (I didn't think I would get very far asking the range operators to turn all of the lights off and let me shoot in the dark ) Next time I get out to a friend's land, I'll try them at night. Sim_Player 1,939
I'm going to get some for my AKs too. They were obviously meant to be used at close range in low-light conditions, not for precision work. They fill a niche and are priced perfect. My indoor rifle range is closed right now. Someone set the rubber back-stop ablaze with a tracer. Edited December 19, 2013 by Sim_Player
