ktcm7271 999
I've been looking high and low for a 16" PPS-43C barrel in 7.62x25 Tokarev and it seems no one is making them any more. I found a guy (Scott Anderson Machining) and sent him my cash. That was 8 months ago and I haven't heard from him since. I'm gonna have a local sheriff pay him a visit soon, but that's beside the point. I was going to machine and old Mosin or AK barrel, but the bullet diameters are about .005" different and accuracy would suffer. Any info would be greatly appreciated, Thanks. Sim_Player 1,939
I wondered about available barrels and receivers for those kits.
Matthew Hopkins 1,065
scott Anderson? you sure it's not Scott Andrey, of SAMACINE.COM? that is the only place on the net that I know that sells 16 inch pps43c barrels. I was look at possibly buying a 10in pps43c barrel in 9mm for my SBR'd 43, but when I read on the "how to order page", and found that he doesn't accept CC, I told myself no thanks, if things go south, I have zero recourse in getting my money back lesson learned, boys and girls; if a company doesn't accept CC, you are hoping on their good will to honor your purchase, so don't send more then you can afford to lose, if that means you can't afford to lose 20 bucks then do not send it. instead of looking around and trying to find a 16in barrel, or hacking a MN or AK barrel and trailer park bubba the thing on it. I have a much simpler and easier solution for you, just do a form 1 and SBR it Edited December 11, 2013 by Matthew Hopkins
Shandlanos 1,470
Yeah, I think you're thinking of Scott Andrey. I've done business with him before, and everything went smoothly. He quoted a longish wait time, and kept to it. As for zero recourse - if you send a US Postal Money order, and write something in the memo as to what it is for, you have pretty good recourse. Mail fraud is serious business.
ktcm7271 999
Yeah, it is Scott Andrey. I read a lot of reviews first and they were all good-except for the waiting time. He kept up via email until he cashed my check, then nothing. I didn't want to wait for the SBR stamp, but I would have had it by now!

Mail fraud is serious business. only recourse you'll get from USPS, is they'll have you fill out a form and file it with the rest of them that are yellowing from age. but as for getting back your money, not in this life time. the USPS is not going to spend the money or energy going after a guy who ripped you off a couple hundred bucks. they only go after the huge fish, that used the mail to rip off in the hundreds of thousands or millions. oh, and if you believe the local sheriff dept will come to your rescue, I will tell you that won't happen, they'll tell you to sue him in small claims, as that is a civil issue, not criminal. Shandlanos 1,470
You don't actually need them to do anything - the threat of action is usually sufficient, in the form of a formal letter of demand.
Hudson Hornet 40
Already have a PPS43 SBR conversion, and yes, I have the $200 tax stamp. What a Big difference shooting it with the folding stock out! Bought a parts kit too and would need a barrel , trunion and an upper. Part of the upper has been cut, wonder it if could be welded back and look halfway decent. Was told that the bottom assembly provided in the kit is for full auto. Just want to make a semi-auto pistol out of the parts kit, as already have the SBR and don't want to buy another stamp.

Just want to make a semi-auto pistol out of the parts kit, CENTERFIRE SYSTEMS has PPS trunions, go to their website and flip through their on-line catalog as for the lower assy. yes the one on there is for full auto, WHITE HORSE MANUFACTURING makes a complete semi auto trigger group, that is the same as the imported 43. but Caveat emptor, they don't take CCs. http://wildhorsemfg.com/pps-43.html if you go over to WEAPONEER.COM there are threads about make a upper, and how to go modifying the bolt for semi-auto. DLT 1,646
Has anyone tried calling IO Inc to see if they will sell you a barrel?
ktcm7271 999
I finally found one on gunbroker. A guy in Oklahoma is selling them, just ordered mine for $133 shipped. He has 10" barrels too. I can't wait to slap it in, I locked the stock open, welded a lightweight steel rail to the top, made a polyurathane damper to replace the hard fiber one, ground off the rivets and filled the holes with weld and painted it. I fired it a few times with the short barrel (before I screwed it up trying to thread the end) and it fired nice. Those little plinkers are gonna fly out of that 16" barrel. I'll post pics when I'm done. Scott Andrey can suck it.
Shandlanos 1,470
Do you intend to dispose of the original barrel before unlocking the stock?Constructive possession is a serious concern.
ktcm7271 999
Barrel is already destroyed. Stock is locked open with no barrel in my posession. The bolt assembly is in a seperate safe as well. I don't mess around with the laws.

I don't mess around with the laws. why on earth did you destroy the barrel? you could have sold it and recouped the money you got ripped off of, not only will you never get your money back, but you destroyed a barrel that would have recoup your loss. not messing with the laws is one thing, but being a delusional paranoid is another, did you think that black helicopters with ATF repelling into your back yard was going to happen? Shandlanos 1,470
I sure as shit would've paid you for the barrel >_<Always nice to have spares
ktcm7271 999
I still have it. I fucked it up when I was trying to put threads on the outside of it for attachments. I precision ground the O.D. right to spec, but had the thread die too tight when I made the first pass. Bent the shit out of it! Maybe the bottom 6-8" is still good, but I never mess with a bent barrel. I can send it to one of you guys if ya want it. PM me.

ktcm7271 999
I finally got it finished! Took it to the range today. It loves newer ammo, and hates my milsurp stuff. I painted the barrel with grill paint, so it's black now.
