gunfun 3,931
So, what's the verdict? Are you happy with the recoil reduction?

lewie212 37
Finally got it to the indoor range but they only allow slugs. It cycled 2 3/4 IN 1 1/8 oz 1410 FPS Royal Star slugs on setting 4 of the DPH gas plug with the stock recoil spring. Still gotta get to the outdoor range to see if I can get it to cycle federal bulk pack. I was happy with the recoil reduction while shooting slugs. I still need to test out 3 inch slugs as well as a variety of other ammo. Edited December 31, 2013 by lewie212
range_time 0
Looks great, that is a monster brake you have on there too, who makes that?
lewie212 37
Tromix
jpnrm96 70
Not tryin to be overly critical, but a small correction is needed. The monster brake was designed by Tromix, but it is sold through CSS. Don't forget that Greg is a business member here, plus a good guy to do business with. Take a look at his forum add. You will find a 10% discount code there. Other than that, it is a good lookin build.
Aram Fingal 11
I did this to my gun a little while ago but only very recently got to go out and shoot it. I was also very happy with the recoil reduction. Although I'm not sure if the rise reduction was from decreased recoil, or added weight on the front of the gun. Looks cool anyway.
Lord Ak-47 49
What about the AK front sight, is that permanetly attached?
lewie212 37
It is not permanently attached. They are the CSS tactical sights. http://www.carolinashooterssupply.com/product_p/css-sightset.htm

F1PRB22 0
How long is the remaining barrel portion, not counting the monster brake ?
Eric Pate 478
I seem to remember the Monster Brake being about 5.75" long. Assuming Leland perm'd it at 18.25", that would leave 12.5" of barrel before the brake.
lewie212 37
Digital radius is close if not right on the money. I can measure to confirm it when I get home in a few days.
evlblkwpnz 3,418
From a glance, it looks like about 13.5" of actual barrel. I am wondering if part of it not cycling 100% with the Estate is due to the additional weight on the carrier assembly. The vert handle and op rod add quite a bit, for a carrier.
