patriot 7,197
Looks good so far. Ar pistols are pretty common is all.
JaredC 23
What barrel are you getting and from where? I have a couple lowers I have been meaning to use for pistol builds. Also what made you go with the 8" length? Kind of uncommon, no?
RED333 1,025
Barrel was offered for a good price on another forum, it was made the seller. The seller drilled the port to big, I am gona use an adjustable gas block. We will see how it goes. Yes AR pistols are common, but not left hand. LOL
RED333 1,025
Lacking BCG and a few mags I like this handguard better
Ronin38 2,117
Looking at that first pic, I was thinking, "That's a heluva snubby you have started there!" I like the second upper on that also. If you have a set of open sights, you'll have a great sight-radius with the full top-rail. Are you going to put a muzzle-brake on it? I have a .223 Diamondback pistol that I just tried out and got sighted-in last week. It's pure hell on everyone around me at the INDOOR range! oops! I've thought about getting another pistol upper to put on it. I kind of like the .300 AAC, but I already have a rifle in 6.8 SPC, and all the reloading supplies for it, so I will just look for one in that caliber. It's pretty close in performance to the .300 (not including the subsonic .300!) Edited March 3, 2014 by Ronin38
RED333 1,025
I only have 1 upper, 1st pic does not have a barrel. The only thing to change from 223 to 300 is the barrel. Mags, BCG, lower and upper will work just fine. 300 Blackout uses a 223 case cut down and neck resized. Yes, I do have a "Clay More" brake, did not get it for the pics. The Troy claymore is an excellent brake. Sends most of the blast straight forward.
Ronin38 2,117
I have a Claymore to try out on mine, too! If I can figure out how to remove the old one without messing up anything... Free-float handguard, so I don't want to really crank it down in the vice, not sure how to remove it, either. It also doesn't allow any room to clamp the barre itself. Current brake has a crush washer but I don't know if there's loc-tite under it too. Tried removing it once, it did not budge at all!
