I have just been itching for an AK Rifle after diving into the S12 world and decided to scratch that itch last week. With that said, what should I expect from this firearm? I have only seen positives about it but thought I would throw the question out there for those who own/have owned them. If its the Century MADE you can expect to have canted sights and mostly US parts, including the barrel. It'll work if it wasnt built by a complete idiot. I believe Century warranty starts at the time of shipment ....from them to wherever and is good for a year......so get on it to check for problems asap once you get it. If its the Npap (or maybe the O Pap. Whichever is without the bulged trunion) That one is originaly made as a single stack and thus has a ground down lug on the bolt. There are 3 types of Yugos being sold. 2 are Yugo made and are new. The O-PAP and the N-PAP. Yours is a parts kit and not much of one to be honest. The Yugo parts have dried up long ago. What youre getting is a Yugo front Trunion, bolt, bolt carrier, safety and top cover. Everything else is American.....the barrel, receiver, trigger group. They are not "far and few". Both the M70B1 and the M70AB2 are good guns. I picked the AB2 because it was the best deal on an under folder at the time, and I didn't have an under folder in my collection. The under folder is not the most comfortable stock to use, and the standard stock if a much better choice if you plan on shooting it often. They have been very well received quality builds, but I would want the Zastava CHF barrel versus US button-rifled. Only way I would change my mind is if the CAI Yugo had a CL barrel. burntpowder 23 Posted January 24, 2014 Author Report Share Posted January 24, 2014 (edited) Picked it up from my local FFL Wednesday evening. Brought it home and did not get to look at it too much. The next evening I really was able to give it a good "goings over" and it is very solid. Everything is in alignment and it does not have any rattles. Complete strip went fine and so did reassembly. The action appeared rough but I expected this with the G2 FCG and a new firearm. After working the action without a magazine for awhile it did get better (I know some say this is nonsense and to that I say nonsense!). I then took the Tapco mag that came with the gun and hand cycled about 4x30 rounds through it. The first 30 there were some hang-ups with the cartridge FTL (caught on lip of barrel). By the 4th it was working just fine and without any hang-ups. Today I decided to start cleaning the cosmo off the two Yugo mags that came with it (1 came included with the firearm and the other came in the Yugo Accessory Package I also purchased which is a Yugo mag, bayonet, and grenade launching spigot). While letting all of that soak I decided to brave the 12F temperature (0 with wind chill) here in PA and see what it would do with the Tapco mag. I have never used a Tapco mag before and have read mixed reviews on them so I was not going in with a ton of confidence. Well, 120 rounds later (WOLF 122gr FMJ) with zero FTL or FTE along the way (both slow and rapid firing) I can say that I am VERY pleased with this firearm. Now it is time to order up a few 1000 rounds and let the fireworks begin! Thanks to all for the feedback everyone gave me in this thread. Yes if you work the action it develops some wear on the action and any any excess material that is more brittle such as manganese phosphate, has a greater chance of being worn off, freeing up the action. I accelerate this process myself with automotive sandpaper on the rails and the bolt carrier at the point of rail contact. I start with 800 grit and go up to 2000 grit. 2000 grit leaves it slick and shiny, any better you'll need to put them on a grinder (A grinder, not a dremel. lol). I also work the points of contact on the trigger as well in order to smooth out the pull. Once it's smoothed out, I'm good to go. Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Supposed to be here tomorrow but who knows with the storm we are expected to get overnight and tomorrow here in PA. Anyway here is what it looks like now along with the "stuff" that came with it: It really is a pleasure to shoot. The only "issue" I've had, and it really is not an issue because I most likely will never use it, is screwing on the spigot. The slant brake goes off and on like butter. When I attempt to screw on the spigot I get it on about 1/4 turn and it hits a brick wall (at least that is what it feels like). With how little it goes on and how abruptly it stops I have to assume there is something wrong with the threads on the spigot........I am not going to grab it with a pair of pillars and just turn for fear of messing up the barrel threads. I did contact CF and am waiting to hear back from them on a possible replacement. I guess with that said, does anyone else have problems screwing the spigot on?.........is it easy going? If CF does not send you a new spigot, you can probably find someone close to you on this, or another forum, that has a 14X1 LH tap and could have them chase the threads for you. First I want to get the hand guard slop out. Stupid me did not order an upper hand guard spring (one did not come with the stock set) and the plastic stock I took off did not have one so you can imagine the movement I have on the upper hand guard.
