First Saiga conversion + first dura coat

Recommended Posts

well, finally got around to performing my 308 saiga conversion.  Decided since I had to paint it anyways, I might as well try my hand at dura coating as well. Chose to go with WWII OD Green.  I am very pleased with the results.  I also sprayed one of my Unita mags while I was at it smile.png . I installed an Arsenal 2-stage trigger.  Very crisp break but I am not yet happy with the weight.  Going to do some more work on it to get the poundage down.  Still much better than factory.  Sorry for the less than perfect cell pics.  I turned the flash off as with the flash it was washing out too much.

with scope-still need to move scope forward since the stock is so much shorter

I decided to retain the bolt hold open and I didn't dura coat the trigger guard

was talking about the weight of the Arsenal trigger pull

has a clean break, no more long creep like factory Saiga trigger

however, it is pretty heavy.  guessing 8# or somewhere in that neighborhood

yeah, not going to get the gun weight down

which, without the scope and mount is only 7 lbs. 13.7 oz. according to my scale

Ah well that makes much more sense

A good trigger job can go a long way so good luck.

Thinking of doing the same just have other projects taking priority atm.
