I had bought a used OM Vaquero at the last Topeka gun show. It was pretty beat up, but I was sure it was only

neglect and stupidity on the previous owner's part. After about three hours of cleaning, the flaws became

apparent. Neglect, yes. Stupidity, yes. Outright carelessness, for sure. I contacted Ruger who advised me to

detail the problems and concerns and return it to them. I waited for two weeks hoping I would get an estimate or

exact cost to repair it. I was going to keep it so the cost didn't matter. Thursday I get notified it is being

returned. No one at Ruger has contacted me, so I called them. I spoke to a great gal named Patricia who pulled up the work order and said it was done and being shipped back. All the things I asked and quite a few others were

taken care of. I wanted to know how much so I could get them paid and she said, "it's no charge". I protested

because I bought it used and it was my responsibility to make sure it was safe and she replied "don't argue with

Ruger, it's free, Merry Christmas!" Words came hard and they will always have me as a customer. I'm glad I bought a NM Vaquero the same weekend. Thank You Ruger, you will always have my loyalty.

They did the same for me on a Ruger Old Army that the previous owner "gunsmithed". Completely reworked internally.

On top of that, my OM SS gold engraved Vaquero has about 20 years of CAS matches on it with NO problems at all, and my Single Six, MKIII and all my 10/22s work like a champ too.

They make good guns, and they stand behind their product.

I had a couple screws come loose from the rear sight, on my Ruger Mini-14, and disappear.

When I called Ruger, they sent me free replacements. I was floored.

In this day and age, that's almost unheard of.

+1 for Ruger

I'm going to add a 10/22 and a Redhawk or Blackhawk to my collection, at some point.

I was thinking about the Magpul, but didn't want to change things before it was tried out first. They are going for over $2000 new

anyways, so it still was a good deal in my book. Have fun and hope you never have a hiccup.

So I purchased SR-762 on Saturday, I get it home and I'm like a kid at Christmas, checking it all out and shit, I can't get out to shoot it right away but still, I'm all cheesen biggrin.png

So next I go to Ruger.com and I'm poking around and I came across the original add for the gun, which contains a list of the "Features". Well I didn't get the "Two Additional Rail Sections and Rail Covers" that are supposed to come with the gun. I called Ruger today and the guy on the other end asked me for the model number, my name, address, phone number, and e-mail address, then said I should receive the parts within 7 days. No other questions were asked, which I really appreciated, here's to you Ruger beer.gif

Okay here's the update on the missing parts; The package from Ruger containing the parts was on my front porch when I got home yesterday, 2/14/14, man I was excited to install the rails. I opened the package and found all of the parts that they had promised, plus a set of 3 different rail covers that don't come with the gun and, no charge. I'm very impressed.
