adjc 171 Posted February 9, 2014 Author Report Share Posted February 9, 2014 thanks guys for the info. already have my guide, (had a set of B@T's but can't find them) was looking for a bit and tap only. have broken taps before and was thinking if i went with higher quality parts this may be a little better avoided. anyone that has broken these totally understands why higher quality is desired! hdskumm 39 Posted February 9, 2014 Report Share Posted February 9, 2014 I got a Hanson (Irwin) tap from Ace Hardware. I thought they were HSS at the time, but it turns out they were carbon. It did not break regardless, but I was extra careful because of the stories I've read on here. I think Grainger sells the HSS ones, but you might need a contractors license to buy from there.
