blueknight6670 0
I'm getting ready to place my order for a quite a few aftermarket goodies for my mka. I am going with parts from all three of the top mka parts fabricators. I have my choice for stock adaptor down to either the tromix of the tooth and nail. I have read good things about both adaptors. In my opinion both have good and bad points, for my purposes. I like the tomix unit for its flexibility, as far as stock mounting options and that you can put a sling plate behind the pignose with a sling mount. My one concern would be the bolts that hold the pignose on working loose after time. The tooth and nails is a nice looking unit and I like that it's one piece for strength but that makes adding a sling point difficult. Now I have talked the guys from TN, via Pm and they plan to do a future offering for a qd swivel point on their adaptor. I know there are other locations to mount a qd or sling swivel but that's where It is on my patrol rifle and that's where I feel comfortable with it. So please opinions from people who have used either unit would be appreciated
JWH223 2
My opinion....... If you are going to use an ACE style FOLDING MECHANISM, go with the Tromix, if you are going to use an AR/M4 style stock without a folding mechanism, go with Salem 6 or T&N. In my humble opinion, the Salem 6 one is a little more pleasing to the eye. Not saying that matters. I went with the Tromix one, and an ACE folding mechanism that is made to directly attach a buffer tube to. No pignose needed. I have considered going to a non-folding set up....if I do, I plan to order the Salem 6 AR/M4 stock plate.
AR-12 Shotgun 16
I'm happy with my T&N adapter. No complaints.

blueknight6670 0
Like I said I like the t&n adaptor and the person I talked with seemed like a great guy. I just wish there was a way to add a sling point to It
rapidrpr 3
if you are going to the ar type stock , the salem 6 adaptor has a upright locking ring for the tube instead of the set screw. much better, good luck Edited February 13, 2014 by rapidrpr
blueknight6670 0
I read a review that said it didn't fit the body of the gun as well as the others and it's the most expensive
Scubagrif 0
Does anyone remember the minimum amount of stock that must be left for a Firebird Stock Adaptor? Thanks

Hobowithashotgun 0
I cut mine a .80 I also used some JB weld and filled the mounting holes with it. The stock adapter won't come off now and I can't see the polymer ever cracking. I did it the same way I bed scopes. Get some shoe polish and coat the upper receiver lug with a few coats so the JB weld won't stick to it. Stuff one of those cheap orange earplugs down in the bolt hole to protect the threads. Soak the whole thing in gun oil. Then slather the inside of the lower receiver with a crap load of JB weld and pound the upper, lower and adapter together. Leave it sit overnight and then pound the upper receiver off the lower. The adapter and lower will be permanently fused together.
Hobowithashotgun 0
Oh and as for a sling mount, I put a standard plate on mine and locked it down with the castle nut. Runs fine with a single point sling.
