ODGreenThumb 13
Just wondering if anyone knows of a smith or otherwise competent machinist who could thread my 5.45 for a 74 brake. Pardon my ignorance. If it cant be done with a hand-held power tool with a number of spinning attachments I don't have the capability or know how. I emailed Tom Cole? at cadiz a couple years back, around when they had the fire, and it probably wasn't the right time. Anyone know of anyone else local dayton/columbus/cincy area? dashowdy 141
1. you can thread the barrel and use adapter and brake and make your own detent pin. 2. swap the whole fsb to the 74 24mm fsb. both can be done by you, not highly technical job so follow the directions and you should be fine. SaigaFL 4
What I did is fast and gets cheaper if you do more. Get a metatal frome tubing cutter or Dremel rotary tool. Cut off 9/16 of muzzle cap. From CSS get; 14x1 MM LH threadibd die, handle, and thread guide. Then U can sell threadiging set up or save for another job. Clamp barrel in vice using 2 pcs. of 2x4 w/small V to clamp barrel. You to You Tuble and watch how easy this is. Just remember to turn die CCW.
