Do you have any plans to make steel magazines for the vepr12 with mag well?

I'll keep it in mind.

We are tossing around the idea of doing a "reality show" type video following the development.

I promise we are not wasting time on it, its just recording stuff as it happens. If it looks like anything at the end of prototype I'll clip it together and throw it on youtube for your entertainment.

My wife is doing the filming and editing as she feels like it.

Maybe it will be entertaining.

Question, will the mags be aprox the same width as the molot mags or narrower like the SGM ? The SGM mags seem much harder to load fast because you have to wiggle them to align them in the receiver where as the molots just slide in because the mag well gets them straight.
Thanks.

They will be like the Molot magazines. We are going to do a couple bumped out ridges to make the magazine wider at the top. Should not get in the way of putting them in a pouch.

Update on Vepr-12. I have not pieced the videos together, so here is a little picture update.

The feed lip stamp is mostly completed. We still are getting a little cracking however it was noticed that two corners are square not rounded. So that should be an easy fix, it takes a few hours to make a single sample, so we just completed out one to do some test fitting on. We also need to make the spacer ribs on the feedlip that will reduce side to side play.

We are currently using our first version of saiga-12 follower, modified to lock the bolt back on empty. Some additional work needs to be done on the tooling for the follower, since it was never completed, and it also needs alterations because it was prone to warping in heat treatment.

Still a couple of weeks of work to complete this project. But we are getting there.

The Vepr uses a magazine well, the front lug has been removed on the test mag. And should be compatible with the Saiga-030 which uses Vepr mags.

We make a rock lock saiga-12 magazine already.

A little progress to report.. Had a few bumps in the road but we seem to be through the most challenging part.

We have what should be the complete magazine design. Next stage is to make the follower which is different in the vepr, and then make the fixtures.

I'll be posting the progress videos shortly.

Should have a follower done tomorrow evening (I really want to get the steel ordered). Should be able to take a firing test magazine out by Friday if all goes well.

I find on the Vepr-12 I grab around the bottom of the magazine most of the time. So its less of a problem.

Or a little piece of car door edge.

I can't find it any cheaper than auto zone, which is why I'm not selling it currently.

Curious on the status of the vepr-12 mags? Sanctions narrow the market but when molot and izzy mags dry up the market is all yours.

They are being welded and stamped currently, should be done with the first batch this week. They still need a finish treatment, so however long that is.
