Ironbar 1
Hey folks. I'm a very tall guy, and I need a new stock on my Saiga AK. A LOT longer if possible. I'd also like to scope my rifle too, so that's a consideration. I did a search in the archives but couldn't come up with anything. Any recommendations on a new stock that will fit the bill for this giant? Thanks!
semper299 284
The longest set up I have seen is a 9.5 inch skeleton stock with a 1" pad. You could also put an external receiver block on, and that would add a pretty good bit of length, although you may not like the overall look.
BigChongus 765
Longest is probably the T6 when fully extended.
JoeAK 337
If you want a wood stock, try making your own, you'll get it exactly the length you want, I made stocks for my 7.62, and S-12 with a 15" LOP (compared to the 12.75" LOP on an AK-74m, which I imagine is pretty much the standard)
Vgnope 8
I'd agree on the T6. The only disadvantage will be the eyerelief from your scope. Being 6'5, slanky arms, I know bout not being able to fit things
poolingmyignorance 2,191
Ace external receiver block with pig nose adapter for 6 position stock.
tchick 52
This is a CSS buffer tube with a Magpul MOE stock. At full extension it is 1.75" longer than the Nato length AK stock. The MOE buttstock comes standard with a .55 recoil pad and a larger .70 pad is available. Since the photo I've added a .5" cheek riser to get a better cheek weld with the scope. Note: The CSS buffer tube has a recess for the rear tang so the collapsible stock can slide over it . While it may have a clean look it also raises the buffer tube slightly. As a result t takes me a little effort to get a good sight picture on the iron sights. It doesn't matter on this rifle. I never take the scope off but I may try the VLTOR buffer tube on another rifle. Edited April 24, 2014 by tchick
Rhodes1968 1,638
Well he may not use a scope but depending on his frame it may not be a problem. Taught myself to shoot with the short LoP, forced me to "make myself small" if you will. Now it feels natural but I dont quite have that kind of reach. And agree the adjustable stocks will give the longest LoP out of the box. Can get pricey on the top end.
Inebriated 31
An AR adapter and a Magpul CTR/MOE with the .7" buttpad is probably the longest you'll find.
