UrineIdiot 0
I bought a Saiga 7.62 recently and have been converting it starting from the rear. Well, I'm now up to the muzzle and it is what has me confused. I've searched, but not successfully apparently. Here's what I think I need and what to do. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Parts: 1. AK 74 FSB such as the one here http://aa-ok.com/front-sight-base-ak74-style.html What I Need to Do: 1. My FSB does not have dimples, but it has two pins at the bottom of the FSB. Do I need a drill press or can I pound them out with a small sledge and a punch? 2. Once the pins are out, I am planning on using a rubber mallet and pounding the FSB off of the end of the muzzle. Are the FSBs pressed on somehow or are they just slid on and pinned? 3. Slide the new FSB on. Will the pin holes already in the FSB line up with the Saiga? Thanks for any help. The rest of the conversion has been easy, but I'm not as sure about the muzzle. Sorry for the terrible picture, but this is how far I've gotten so far. I am missing the lower handguard retainer, but I ordered one from Dinzag a week ago.

semper299 284
1. Punch out pins from left to right 2. Whack FSB from side to side to loosen up, then pound it off the front. 3. Slide 74 FSB on. You may have to use a mallet to give it some encouragement, but it will go on fairly easy enough. The pin holes will line up. Punch pins in from right to left. One end of pin is bigger, so make sure you put small end in first. Edited April 4, 2014 by Semper299
UrineIdiot 0
@W8lifter - Sorry. I'm one of the annoying people who apparently did not look too well. That thread was on the front page. Sorry about that. @Semper299 - Thank you! That sounds easy enough.

Sorry about that. Not an issue, the search function is kinda sucky here.
