D.C.MORRISON 494
Who is the manufacturer of the ten rounders?
faststang90 18
its the plastic ones from css
D.C.MORRISON 494
CSS only retails. Are there any markings on them? And to be clear, you are just having failures to eject?
faststang90 18
no marking on it. i have 3 of them 1 would load but not kick out. 2 would not even load the gun.
D.C.MORRISON 494
You are saying that the mags will not lock in place, right? If that is the case you will need to do some fitting. All that is needed is a small flat file.
faststang90 18
no they all lock in
D.C.MORRISON 494
OK, spent shells are not ejecting, or are live shells getting stuck in the mags?
faststang90 18
no of the 2 mags the shells will not load into the gun. the mag locks into the gun but the shells will not load into the barrel. the other one the shells load right but they dont kick all the way out. when i went to the 13 round mags it shoots all the ammo no maker what it is bird shot, buckshot, slugs
D.C.MORRISON 494
That sounds like the ten rounders are holding the top round at the wrong angle. Do the mags have steel feed lips? You may want to load both types and hold them together. Check for a difference in the angle of the rounds. Do the ten rounders load easily?
faststang90 18
its like its holding the shell wrong because it does not load and the shell gets pushed in. shell1.bmp shell2.bmp
TigerFire13 5
If this is a 20 gauge and it is the plastic 10rd mag from css, it most likely is the vg tactical mag. When holding more than 5-6 shells, the feed angle is too low and hangs up. Mine does the same thing. The CSSPECS magazine does not have this problem. If you only load 5 shells in your magazine, does it then work ok?
magsite20 1,664
Having spent a little time studying the feeding of shells from a mag into the chamber of a 20 gage I can tell you that unless the top shell is fully clear and the 2nd shell is about ½ clear of the front on the mag (see mag shown in link) they will tend to nose dive. http://www.carolinashooterssupply.com/product_p/cspecs-s20-10rdmag.htm Note also if the angle is too high you can’t get the mag in the gun. I never tried any of the black 10 shot mags (we made the 13s) but I’d guess if you change the ramp angle of the follower to have more lift in the front you might get them to work. But see new note below. Just found a photo of the plastic 10 rounder looks like they brought the feed lips on the top pretty far forward might be able to get some lift on the front of the shell by trimming them back some if that can be done.
