Custom 20 ga. slugs from Lithuiania ?

Recommended Posts

I found some really neat slugs that have a polymer housing and steel "petals" that open up and no doubt would make a really neat hole the size of a golf ball upon entry ......they were manufactured in Lithuania (sp) and were availible from Midway and Cheaper then Dirt . Now neither company sells them anymore and I wrote to the makers and got no answer .

These slugs could be fired out of any 20 ga'. barrel and seemed like the ultimate Home Defense ammo ......what happened to the company that made them and what happened to their U.S distributors ?

MIKE,

THEY'RE ACTUALLY FROM LATVIA, AND ARE MADE IN 12, 16, 20, AND .410.

CENTURY ARMS IS THE MAIN IMPORTER.

I'VE USED THEM IN 12GA., HAVEN'T KILLED ANYTHING WITH THEM YET, BUT EXPERIMENTED WITH THE EXPANSION BY SHOOTING THROUGH TWO 2 1/2 GALLON PLASTIC WATER JUGS LENGTHWISE.

TORE THE JUGS TO SHREADS, AND EXPANDED AS ADVERTISED.

I MAY HAVE SOME PICTURES OF THE RECOVERED SLUGS ON MY DIGITAL CAMERA, IF I DO, I'LL POST 'EM LATER.

IF NOT, I'LL TAKE SOME AND PUT 'EM UP.

IT'S DEFINITELY A BAD DAY ON THE RECEIVING END OF THOSE THINGS.

THE THREE PIECES SHOWN ARE ALL THAT I COULD FIND OUT OF THE SIX.

THE SIX PIECES SET ATOP THE MAIN BODY OF THE SLUG,

WHERE THE SIX DARK TRIANGLES ARE. THEY FRACTURE OFF,

UPON IMPACT, MAKING THEIR OWN WOUND CHANNELS.

THE W-SITE HAS VIDS SHOWING TESTING IN CLAY, PLUS

SOME PRETTY SIZEABLE HOLES IN SOME RUSSIAN BOARS.

Jess-

Yes , thank you for the correction ! They are indeed made in Latvia.  I heard from the manufacturer directly and he gave me a link where "they may be available" ,

and thanked me for my interest in their product .

If I was that nonchalant in my representation of the product I was selling -I think I would be out of business in no time .

I mean for goodness sakes; I write asking where their product is available here in the U.S.A and I get one  "possible source "??

How about listing every distributor they have here and let me contact them all if necessary to obtain the product ?

At any rate , I found a supplier all on my own and have ordered 30 boxes .

MIKE,

At any rate , I found a supplier all on my own and have ordered 30 boxes .

AND WHERE MIGHT THAT BE, MY FRIEND; GIVE IT UP FOR THE BROTHERS032.gif

IT'S ALSO QUITE POSSIBLE THAT THESE THINGS MAY BECOME QUITE HARD TO FIND AS VLAD-THE-CONQUERER CASTS COVETEOUS EYES ON THE BALTIC STATES.

WE MAY THEREFORE GET TO SEE THESE PUT TO USE AGAINST SOME MORE INTERESTING TARGETS.

   JUS' SAYIN'........

.........I went and ordered more ;  soon no doubt you won't be able to get them ....soon after that it will be illegal to own them ....... then not long after that -they will come to take away the guns that can shoot them .
