30,000 peeventable deaths in USA last year...

The bigger question is are we doing the Human condition any good by trying to prevent the common "preventable" childhood diseases....or would the Human species be better off obtaining the immunity by natural means? Or....literally what does not kill you makes your stronger?

A classic example used frequently and here is that most, (not all) Northern Europeans have a little bit of natural immunity from Plague. Some of our distant ancestors got it, got over it, did not die and passed the naturally acquired immunity on to future generations. HB of CJ (old coot) retarded RN

Or....how about heart disease or cancer or just old age? Or planes, trains and automobiles? Or liberal thinking? Or sit comm TV? You make a very good point and thank you.

Crap, I call BS on preventable!!! Check your facts!!! Most of the time 50% of the people who die are up to date on vaccines! You should really check the facts on a disease, then the facts from the vaccine pamphlet. Most of the time your are at more risk of harm from the vaccine then the illness! Other people believe in heard immunity, that since my neighbor can't give it to me I'm safer. Most diseases were declining BEFORE vaccines, most then went UP during initial vaccine introduction, then continued on the same decline they were on before the introduction. This does not work with all vaccines and illnesses, but it is so with most. I almost died do to flu mist, after repeatedly asking if it was going to cause me problems. I'm allergic to penicillin, it doesn't have penicillin in it, but a cousin I could have been tested for before they dumped that in my system. Then I still got the flu cause it wasn't the strain the vaccinated against.

It's all a matter of free will. As long as I have the ability to run my life the way I see fit, I'll deal with the consequences of my decisions like a man. I can't stand the whiny bitches in life that want to blame someone else for the decisions they've made. All of you have the ability to decide on your own accord, choose wisely and be bold. Yup, it's that simple!

Question....

You choose not to immunize yourself and family. Your family gets sick with whatever but makes it through with little more stress than a severe bout of flu. However you(and yours) are now carriers of this strain of whatever.

A couple months later, your kids go to a classmates birthday party where the classmates new little brother(unimmunized, too young) inadvertently picks up your strain of illness and (worse case) dies.

Who is responsible? Should you inform others of your condition? Or is it the parents fault for not being more careful? How would you feel if the situation were reversed?

Just some thoughts. And while I'm sure someone will say "It can't happen." I'm sure that's what was said about various illnesses throughout history.

PS- I think I saw this on Law and Order or some such, lol. So yes, highly hypothetical.

how many have made it out alive? seems like at some point everyone takes the long dirt nap, of course we all try to put it off as long as possible (some don't seeing how there are more suicides than homicides).

So your point is that the right to walk this earth is conditional on bending one's will to the collective dictates, for the common good ?

Natural Selection and yup, we all come with an expiration date. To immunize or not is the choice you make (unless it's a requirement by the state to allow your children in public school, then again if it bothers you there's private or home schooling). Once again, your choice.
