100% copper 7.62x39, boxer primed brass case

Recommended Posts

Have you guys seen this? Apparently red army standard makes 100% copper bullets, brass cased and boxer primed. Its available at sgammo. Its a bit expensive, but if you compare it to other reloadable options its really not all that bad. If they come out with an expanding (hp/sp) version i may be in for it and some reloading equipment that caters to copper bullet manufacture (if they even make that for home reloaders). Anyways just wanted to let yall know!

The box pictured, says 'Lead Cored'.

This is not a solid copper bullet/projectile, you're paying out the ass for the brass and easily re-loadable boxer primed cases.

And for the primer & case mouth being sealed for long term storage.

There are three RA offerings, progressing in price.

Steel, berdan, non-sealed

Steel, berdan, sealed

Brass, boxer, sealed

180 round range pack - 7.62x39 - Copper Non-Magnetic FMJ - Brass Case -

Red Army Standard Ammo made in Bosnia by Igman - AM1930A

123 grain Flat base bullet similar to M67 ball

non-corrosive priming.

Lacquer sealer primer pocked and case mouth sealed with a black lucas.

Brass case, Boxer primer, 2013 MFG

*** The Golden Tiger is a much better option. ***

Rhodes, I do the same! I have a mediocre stash of brass and brass cased ammo for the x39. I have reloaded some of it just to see what I can do. So far I cant seem to get much better than the current production steel case....at least not enough better to warrant reloading for the x39..so it will sit until I need to reload for it!

Sounds like Prvi but probably lower QC (just my guess), made at one of the former Yugoslav army plants. As Chile said it basically sounds like non-corrosive M67.

I bought a bunch of Hungarian MFS brass cased FMJ a few years back. Great ammo, at the time it was the same price as todays steel cased. I've always wondered why we never got any more of that ammo? I kept all of the brass fortunately.

Ah hell i feel like a moron now, i got all excited and rushed that post. I should really calm down before i say i found somethin new. My apologies guys.

Don't beat yourself up. We have all gotten excited and posted before our brains caught up with our emotions. It has actually elicited an interesting discussion.

Should something happen to supply chains it would suddenly become very important.

The local gunshop had most of a lot of virgin brass and 123 grain bullets show up last year and I bought it because I had just purchased a Remington mini-mauser in 7.62x39.  I loaded a couple hundred rounds but the expander ball in my Lee dies didn't open the case mouth up enough for seating the flat base bullets and it was pita to get them seated without collapsing case shoulders.  I finally realized it was more effort than it was worth with a shop full of mil-surp and finally shelved the components for future needs.
