EthanM 514
Just something I was wondering about. Since it's a pretty awesome finish, why not use it on a vehicle? Something like a Jeep or something. Is it possible? Any reason you wouldn't do it? Just curious. Some of us were talking about it at work the other day.
Nailbomb 10,221
CO$T would be reason #1 Availability of other durable products with qualities designed with autos in mind for less $$$ would be another contributing factor.
wasrNwarpaint 184
I havent used Cerakote, but I did a complete Panhead Harley in Gunkote semi gloss black and the trim ,nuts and bolts were chromed....it stood up well to daily use many years ago
Bigtwin 219
I think Nailbomb......Nailed it! Mucho denero!
storm6490 2,768
Here is the process to cerakote finish. http://youtu.be/2zCjfqE8XME It could be done but it would be one hell of a project. Nailbomb nailed it. It would cost more than your vehicle to do it right.
Doug Hartley 526
I saw a 4 door Jeep with gray Linex bedliner all over it in Vegas last week. Looked pretty durable but it would be a bitch to wax! Doug

h3ws12hi 15
There's a newer vehicle running around my neighborhood that has its entire paint color completely coated with what appears to be Line-x. I'll snap a photo and post it...
Bigtwin 219
In the town my shop is in there is a Camaro(late 90-early2000) that is covered in Line X bed liner that is colored orange and black. Though it is a advertisement for his company....LineX.
EthanM 514
Very good arguments. I've seen a couple jeeps with bed liner on em. They don't look that bad
Nailbomb 10,221
I want to bedliner my vehicle. Saw a fj done in OD bedliner and it looked great he called it "the booger".
XD45 7,124
That's going to be about 300 extra pounds to carry around.
Nailbomb 10,221
Thats a exaggeration. Bedliner doesn't weigh that much, and I figure it would only take a gallon or two to fully coat a vehicle. Now the 5/16" C channel I bought to make bumpers out of, thats going to add some weight, but even a 20' stick of it(which all won't be used) only weighs 210lbs or so. But I'll be damned if someone is going to put another hitch into my bumper and not realize they hit something. Found booger.... http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forums/member-build-ups/64463-meet-booger-my-linexd-od-tank.html
XD45 7,124
Depends on how thick you make it obviously. Typical applications in pickup beds is over 50lb.
bahamasair666 1
I paint my off road vehicles with monstaliner and love it. You can lay it down smoother than other bed liners and it's tough as nails. Its not as rough as regular bed liners if you roll it on and don't do a final roll as it tacks up, It doesn't hold mud and a quick pressure clean will bring it back 100% clean.
