originalnj spetznas 4
I have a Saiga M3-Exp-01 and i want to buy a POSP 4x24 scope. But i dont like the high of the AK POSP when it is mount on an AK. I think it is too high. The SVD variant of POSP 4x24 is a bit lower. Is it possible to mount the SVD model on an AK mounting rail? Can i change the mounting rail on my Saiga with an SVD mounting Rail? Picture 1 = ugly Picture 2 = Perfect

Sdustin 578
I couldn't get the svd to mount on an m70 and I think it would work on my saiga but the bell of the scope was too big and the svd mount made it too low the bell would hit tge rear sight stop I don't know if it would lock up. D.C.MORRISON 494
The mount in picture two may not be all that perfect. the scope looks to be too far to the rear. I realize that the eye cup could be dispensed with. But it still seems like eye relief might be a problem.
originalnj spetznas 4
Yes, but thats no Problem. Its still possible to aim I know more now. An SVD mount rail cant be installed on an ak, because its milled in the SVD receiver in original. But there are universal POSP bottom mounts that will fit on AK and SVD. But sadly, its not aviable here in Switzerland :/ http://kalinkaoptics.com/accessories/for-posp/posp-universal-bottom-mount-w-black-finish-for-pso-posp-scopes-and-bp-02-mounts-hot-swappable.html I also heard from russian Soldier in afghan war. They filed away a "stopping pin" on the SVD POSP so they could mount it on their AKs. But i dont want to have a self-made/damaged POSP. No one here who have mount an SVD POSP in his Saiga? Lone Eagle 839
Couple of people on AKFiles have. All they did was use a pair of vise grips to pull the stop pin out. It's just a roll pin, and pops out easy. Once the pin was out, all was good.
SaigaFL 4
I found out the hard way that losing cheek weld affects accuracy. Get the optic low as you can and a butt stock riser. Edited May 2, 2014 by SaigaFL
SaigaFL 4
Example using a CNN stock w/riser.
