Cheap Muzzle Device To Meet 922r?

I'm looking for a cheap muzzle device to meet 922r on my S-12. Any suggestions? Would a U.S. made muzzle nut/thread protector count? Thanks in advance.

I'm just going off of memory but I believe the rules when it comes to muzzle breaks are a bit ambiguous, as to weather or not it counts. Someone with more knowledge of the up to date rules will be by shortly.

It counts but only if your replacing a foreign part. If your adding parts it means nothing. That goes for all parts. I thought the wide spread belief is 922r doesn't matter for the end user?

From what I understand the BATF does not recognize the threaded muzzle protector as a countable part.  So by 922r standards you are gaining nothing by adding a US made muzzle device. 

 

Edited:  I'd go with the MD Arms flash hider which can be found at "What-a-Country" if you still want something cheap.

Nothing currently counts for or against you on the end of your shotgun. Rifles are another matter. They could change their minds.

Well, whether it counts or not, I got an inexpensive one (not cheap!) for my S-12 for $25 with free shipping, which I really like. Here's a link on GunBroker, but it's available from many different sources.
