tsushooter1 16
I was wondering what kind of paint some of y'all have used to get the correct exterior finish on metal parts that the Bulgarians used so that it looks close? Where did you get it and how did you apply it? Thanks
Big John! 2,062
I don't have a clue what the bulgarians use, but I've touched up parts after conversions with rustoleum high heat paint that I just happened to have with good results. If your gun has a slight sheen, you can use a satin finish. Zero sheen, flat. Bling bling, glossy.

My can looks almost zactly like that. I think mine is rated for higher temps like exhaust and BBQ's and stuff.
DLT 1,646
I use the BBQ paint. Works and looks really well when you allow a coat to dry and the apply a second one about a day later.

Sim_Player 1,939
I found the that Rustoleum to have a slightly blue tint to it. I repainted with Duplicolor 1634 (low gloss black) and was much happier.
gunfun 3,931
Duplicolor gloss black engine enamel is exact match rustoleum is not. duplicolor is also more durable than OEM paint while blending perfectly.
tsushooter1 16
on a mag of mine I've used the rustoleum high heat spray paint for grills and it has a blue grey tint to it. I'll try the duplicolor. Thanks guys!!
Sim_Player 1,939
Make sure you give it the recommended time to dry before heavy use. Two weeks me thinks. I painted my parts, carefully assembled the rifle, and put it in the safe, after just a couple of hours, to fully dry. Edited May 20, 2014 by Sim_Player
