RED333 1,025
Well this what ya get when you have to much time on your hands in the rain.5 gallon bucket with 4 gallons of water.Plastic paint, I used 2 colors, green and tan. Some kind of stick.Wire to hand your part, and last but not least you part.Spray the paint, into the center of the water, first one color then the 2nd color.I went with 3 cycles of color. So I sprayed 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2 all pointed at the center of the bucket. You end up with rings on paint, mix a bit with the stick. Now dip you part into the water till it is all the way under.DO NOT PULL IT OUT YETLet the paint on the water gel, takes about a min or so, take thestick and get the paint off the water, it will clump to the stick.NOW lift out the part, this is what you get.The paint I used will clean off with paint thinner. YOT 3,743
Nice randomness. Will normal gun maintenance products affect it?

Sdustin 578
Pretty cool, what kind of paint did you use?
gunfun 3,931
People get some pretty cool patterns by drizzling or flicking different colors into the water too, and also stirring the surface. A lot like coffee art. There are lots of videos on youtube of different water transfer techniques to get creative patterns. I knew there was an old middle eastern art form of transferring it to paper or cloth. Apparently it's called "ebru" Anyway this search yields a lot of instructional videos. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=how+to+paint+on+water+ Some cool effects are often used on guitars: https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=dip+guitar
